I am experiencing faint feeling and am suddenly low on energy during the day just before lunch. How can I stay energized without eating whatever comes in sight.

I usually plan (budget in my calories) a piece of fruit for those times of low energy. It works for me and keeps me from going after some of the snacks that wouldn't be as good for me.

Not sure if this is the sort of advise you're looking for, but it's what I do.

    Good luck!

I felt like this a couple times, it's because I was eating too little. Bump your calories up. If you are at 1200 a day, move to 1400 and try that.

All of the suggestions so far are good. However, if you feel really disturbed by it, go see your doctor. I felt the same way and it turned out to be a thyroid problem.

    Best of luck to you!

a female friend here was feeling the same. she told me that she was only eating 1240 cals per day. i suggested going up to 1400, for a few weeks, just to try it out. she freaked out, but she did it.

that was over a month ago, and she's sticking to 1400. she's in much better moods (still doesn't smile though, lol) and is working out better and harder, and still losing weight.

I agree, eat more! I was burning out from my workouts and one of the trainers told me to eat more, she was surprised when I told her I was only eating 1200 calories (at the time I wasn't eating my exercise calories). In fact she asked me again today if I was eating more. I assured her I was. I now try to at least net 1200. I would like to try to net more.

Eat something small, but healthy, about an hour before lunchtime. A pack of raisins, a 4 oz yogurt, an ounce of nuts. You're probably having low blood sugar and need a pick me up. Lots of folks eat 4 - 6 times a day because of this. Just make sure you have it about a half hour before you typically start feeling poorly.

Perhaps you need to bump up your calories a tad. You can also look into what sort of snack you're having between breakfast and lunch. You need to keep fueling your body. Some suggestions are: yogurt with a handful of nuts (calcium&protein), apple and peanut butter (a bit of sugar and protein), some crackers with peanut butter (carbs+protein). You could also try including more protein in your breakfast.

I kind of realized that my breakfast is void of protein. Thanks for the suggestion abt protein.
    Thanks everbody!
