  • my normal salad that I love is lettuce (whatever I buy, doesn't make a difference to me), some bacon bits, lemon juice, grilled chicken with some buffalo wing sauce on it, a handful of those yummy fried onions (not too many, for various reasons! LOL) and that's it. I don't like cheese or dressings, so that's my salad! I…
  • Hi! starting my week with renewed resolve! Had a good weekend, but the scale wasn't kind this morning. water retention for sure. But since I made it back to the gym 3 times last week, I won't have any problem doing so again this week! and food is doable as well. Tishtash, good luck getting to your new "title" ;)
  • HA! Get out of my head. I just posted something similar on another forum about how I HATE that diet has been turned into a 4-letter word! It's merely how you eat, it's not some fad. it could be a POOR diet or a Healthy diet, but if you aren't dieting, you're dead ;) And I really just don't get all these people I know that…
  • I've lost about 25, few people really noticed. but I've been maintaining weight and losing inches for a year (not a ton, mind you, but something) and buying clothes that fit better and people have noticed more from that than the 25 pounds I've lost.
  • SW: 308 CW: 289.2 GW: 284 (for Jan) GW: 180 (overall) Weigh in Dates: 1/1: 289.2 (the 2nd actually, since the 1st was not a typical morning) 1/8 1/15 1/22 1/31 My 2013 fitness resolution is to lose, I'm not going to pick a random number because I know I'll hit snags, but I want to be lower by the end of the year, period.…
  • well, the lady behind us last time sounded like Sophia from Golden Girls and never shut up for the 4.5 hour flight, so I deem her THE worst! I had headphones on the whole time and could still hear her.
  • 5'10" here, I think I'd be quite happy at 175 altho at 154, I'd be HALF what I was when I started this losing journey, that would be a cool thing to say, that I'm half the woman I used to be ;)
  • what about picking out a few items and finding a tailor to bring them in and every 3 or 4 weeks, you take a few more items (until they can't be taken in any more). should be cheaper than buying new stuff and you also don't have to find new stuff you like! My current size, I don't particularly love my clothes, but the next…
  • We moved around some furniture last night and the lamp we bought a few months ago had to be moved so I unplugged it and moved it gently. When I moved it back and plugged it in, it didn't work. Tried a few things to see if it would work, nope. REALLY irritated! between the cost of the lamp and the 5 bulbs, not disposable…
  • I got a sample of the Secret clinical strength and while I think it worked well, the "marathon fresh" sport scent smelled like what my dad used growing up and I don't know about you, but smelling like my dad is NOT what I aspire to......I struggle with this too but hate parting with so much for the clinical strength.....I…
  • I gained about 30 pounds with my daughter and all of it came back off within the next 2-3 weeks after her birth. I breastfed for 15 months and not long after she weaned herself, I started gaining, because I was still eating like I was feeding another human, I wasn't. but stupidly, it took me getting back to that "day I…
  • the number I saw on the scale was higher than the day I went into labor with my daughter, nearly 3 years earlier! It wasn't a pretty number and I knew I would just keep going up if I didn't do something about it.
  • it's about 100-300 (if any) while pregnant, 500+ while BFing after the baby arrives. Altho if you go that route, there's a negative calorie entry for breastfeeding here at MFP as my friends have used.
  • If you're not done losing weight, do one of the temporary fixes because each time they resize your rings, the metal gets weaker and weaker and eventually, they can't do anything. Oh and always take them off to go swimming, even my rings that weren't too big normally nearly fell off in the pool recently. I'm very excited to…
  • if its something you like, get it tailored to fit the new you, otherwise, sale racks and thrift stores oh and check out your local freecycle or craigslist for people giving away bags of clothes. you never know what you might find! and then you can pass them on further (either the same way they came or just to…
  • same basic thing we do to both asparagus and brussels sprouts. I imagine it's YUMMY! no pine nuts for us either tho, but parm sometimes on the sprouts.
  • 1.) How old are your children and how many do you have? (share names if you wish) My daughter will be 4 in October 2.) Will you be planning to have more kids in your future? Still up in the air 3.) How was your pregnancy/delivery? Pregnancy was easy peasy (seriously! I was mad that I went early!), Delivery, it was fine.…
  • G here, and even when I was smaller, the best advice I ever found was double up with a cheapy uni-boob sports bra. got a 3 pack for $10 at wal mart and they're awesome. no racer back that strains my neck even! I spend enough on my regular bras, can't be spending a bundle on 2 bras per day.
  • I will push myself to do a longer workout if I really want a treat that day, but I've scaled back treats, 100 calorie ice cream treats are my go-to, hit the spot!
  • I discovered freeze dried Brothers All Natural fruits thanks to Jet Blue and I love those things. nothing added, shelf stable for a long time, so they can fill in the gap if you've run out of fresh or if you desire a crunch snack that isn't sodium filled processed corn or potatoes.....not cheap, but since I'm not going to…
  • 5'10", 11-12 depending on brand (currently in a 10.5 in keen ballet flats! so frustrating!). I buy shoes where I can get them. a couple of local shops, Nordy's, I have a great casual sporty flat from payless that's shocked my pants off I love it so much, normally payless shoes make my whole body hurt! Oh and I've only ever…
  • I hate how I look in my clothes, I don't want to have to start taking a pillbox of medications in a few years for diseases I can prevent, I do have a 4yo daughter I need to be there for and also my husband, those are certainly valid reasons, but they're not my #1.....*I* am #1! no one else is expected to look after me! so…

  • good supportive shoes with a tiny bit of heel (think dankso height, not more than an inch or so. I had a pair of birkenstock tatami sandals that I literally wore anytime I was home, had em bedside in case I needed to get up at night, otherwise, I couldn't make it to the bathroom), the stretching. what about a sleeping…
  • the rolls above my waist, they still continue to get smaller while other parts are still as big as ever ~sigh~ progress is progress!
  • when I hit *$, I get a non-fat mocha frapp, no whip......but most other shops, non-fat iced mocha, no whip. neither is very often, altho I stopped at a stumptown shop today, YUM!
  • WOOHOO! Isn't it just crazy how built-in some actions are, like popping in the candy without even thinking about it, not needing it or wanting it. Defeating that is SO huge! Great work all around! :D

  • There are times when I know what dinner is and so I put that in after breakfast and figure out what I've got left for lunch, but otherwise, it's a squeeze the other way, where I eat lunch and then make dinner fit with what I've got left.
  • just had the frozen "steak and potatoes" the other night with a side of brussels sprouts (I can't say I recommend the ones we got there, they were quite tough) and it was a great meal for 2. The frozen naan, dangerous! glad I didn't have it last night when I used the precooked fridge chicken (lightly seasoned) to make…

  • after work. When my husband got a job after a year of being out of work, I shifted my schedule so I would have a built-in hour right after work where I could go to the gym or run errands. Gym most days, now. Finally able to get back to a normal schedule after some things that were well out of my control. if I wanted to go…
  • well, it was 2 pounds OVER the weight I saw on the scale the day I went into labor that prompted me to get off my *kitten*, but I'd have never used my highest pregnancy weight as my starting weight otherwise.....all of my pregnancy gain was gone in 2 weeks and stayed off until my daughter weaned.....
