  • It's tough when everybody else if eating whatever they like and you're trying to diet. I can kind of sympathize, because I remember when I was preparing food for my daughter's party, it was really annoying I couldn't enjoy the pizza and cake that I was working so hard to make! I decided to go ahead and eat some, but in…
  • Be kind to yourself. We all do things we regret. Just get right back on track the next meal and don't look back.
  • I took a peak at your diary and looks like you are eating alot of fast food. That stuff can really pack on the pounds. Maybe try doing more food preparation at home.
  • Gosh, I think if you're not exercising, it would be good to start. You will feel more confident in your body. Anything that shapes your body such as Pilates or weight lifting.

  • Eat less, exercise more, or lift weights to increase your metabolism. It's really common for people to underestimate the amounts they're eating. Be sure to measure/weigh everything especially the high calorie stuff like cheese, butter and oil. One more thing to think of sometimes you lose inches before pounds and sometimes…
  • First thing is to admit that you are not out-of-control, nor are you a victim. You saw yummy stuff, you ate. You knew it was not a good idea, but you chose to do it anyway. Other than that, plan your meals ahead of time. Bring food and healthy snacks along if only junk will be available.
  • For many menu items, you can ask for a 1/2 order. Other than that, you will need to learn to say 'no' to yourself if you really want to lose weight. Temptation is everywhere.
  • I would just go ahead and exercise. It's good for you and will help you lose the pounds. You won't necessarily be more hungry if you exercise. In fact, it may reduce your appetite. Just thinking of my sister, she rarely ate her exercise calories.
  • Have you looked at the before/after pics in the Success form? This may help you feel a bit better. I'm personally more afraid of losing my eyesight to diabetes than a bit of hanging skin, but that's just me. If you were standing to lose 200 pounds, you'd have alot more to worry about, but you are lookign at maybe 50…
  • Estimate. If you don't know the exact calories, estimate it. If you need to bring along a cup measurment, tablespoon and teaspoon along to help you with the estimating, then so be it. You'll soon get good at eyeballing things. Obviously you will need to trim calories wherever you can. Salads are often a good choice. Don't…
  • Depends. I would think 500 is too much. Maybe try 300 and see how it goes. When I was breastfeeding, the weight just melted off. After weaning, it crept back on unfortunately.
  • I haven't got any info, just wanted to say congrats on quitting smoking. WTG!!!
  • BTW, I saw your diary was open so I took a quick peak, hope that's OK. It looks to me like you need to control your calories more if you want consistent weight loss. There's some things in there, like the sunflower seeds, avocados, coffees out etc that are really adding up. Maybe try having those in lower portions or…
  • I never had nuts while on induction, but I do now once in a while. I don't overdo it, though, because of the calories. I have made my own almond flour for baking. I was making alot of zucchini bread for the family so I wanted a low-carb alternative for me, so I used almond flour. Yum. It's a nice treat, but I try not to do…
  • It seems like a bit too much, but if you're losing weight, that's all that matters. 1-2 pounds/week is about right.
  • You can always try Atkins or anothe type of low-carb. This is what helped me lose the weight. Calories do count, but there's an extra edge you get with low-carb. Anything that converts to sugar will stimulate your body to produce insulin which makes you hold onto the fat.
  • The only thing that counts is total calories. You do not have to ditch wheat to lose. However, some peope such as myself have found a low carb diet to be great for reducing appetite and losing weight.
  • I've never eaten less than 1500, but sometimes I do have days where I'm just not hungry. What I have found happens is I am more hungry the next day and make up for it. There's no point forcing yourself to eat if you're not hungry.
  • You're not too young, in fact, you are doing the right thing by getting a handle on your weight before it gets out of control. I sure wish I knew all I know now at 18. Now I have to lose weight due to pre-diabetes and back ache. Even after I lose it, the stretch marks and saggy skin will be there! There are going to be…
  • I hate to break it to you, but this woman is NOT your friend. You are overweight enough that your weight is dangerous to your health. Would you like to get diabetes and lose both feet or would like to be nice to this woman.
  • I've felt this way a few times, like when my back was aching and I was feeling really desperate to lose weight. I know you are not alone and there are many people out there who feel conflicted about their eating too. Try to find foods you really like. It's OK to enjoy your food, even if you're on a diet. I'm on low-carb so…
  • Welcome!! I started off doing Atkins, but haven't really been strict about it. but I have read the book well and am basically following it. I went straight to 30 grams net the first week and soon after added berries and such and have been at 40-50 net grams for the last several months.
  • We all fall off one in a while. The important thing is to not dwell on it too much and just get back on track the next meal.
  • Hardboiled eggs, chunks of cheese, celery/cucumber sticks with dip. Nuts are kind of high in calories, have to be careful there. For breakfast, I typically have 1 cup cucumber with 1 Tbsp dip, 1/4 cup berries, 3 scrambled eggs. I used to carry around Atkins bars, but they're kind of expensive now. For a while, made some of…
  • I was surprised about the vitamin C. Never considered this to be a problem personally, given how many fruits and veggies I eat.
  • The title of this thread cracks me up every time I read it. I NEVER eat breakfast and yet somehow lost 26 pounds. How's that? :noway:
  • I don't think there's any problem with eating at night, what you're eating is really what matters. What kind of stuff are you munching on late at night? Maybe time to get rid of it. You send me your munchies and I"ll send you my scrambled eggs. :D
  • Honestly, I don't believe any of that. I believe what really matters is the total calories consumed / day and the amount you exercise. My sister told me that it's good to go to bed slightly hungry. Well anytime I try that, I'll wake up hungry in the middle of the night. I always eat before bed.
