I say go for it. Why not give yourself all the advantages you can? As you said, you're young and new to dieting. Sure, you can lose the weight without help, but if you can afford it or it's covered under your health plan, why not.

Summer's a busy time with hunting elk and gathering berries. Right now, the igloos' been built and there's not much else to do so we have a bit of time to go online.
-
You came on here because you gained 2 pounds?
-
Go 1/2 hour later (or earlier). Done.

Great answers! I'm sick and tired of feeling like I must aspire to look a certain way. There's no way I could look like any of these women without surgery.

If you're one of those people that has alot of hanging skin after weightloss, you can always get it cut off right? After 2 pregnancies, I have no expectations of looking 17 again. That's life.

Congratulations on your weight loss. I think it's natural to worry about regaining after such a significant loss, but sounds like your anxiety is above normal. I think you already know that. I agree that you should talk to a professional, starting with your doctor.

We've all been there. Don't let it discourage you. Just keep doing that you're doing. It's likely water weight. <hugs>

A dietician suggested I eat cornflakes for breakfast...

If you hate meat, don't eat it. Whatever diet you pick, make sure you're eating foods you enjoy, otherwise you won't be able to keep the diet up for long. What I did when I started Atkins was to look through the list of what was 'allowed' and write down the foods that *I* enjoyed. From here, I had my shopping list. You can…

It might be worth talking to someone about that. Depression can definitely distort the way you see things.
-
Do you think you might have an eating disorder? This can cause you to see yourself as fat when you're not.

I have kids too and we don't have this stuff in the house, except for special occasions. If you want to nibble before dinner, have raw veggies on hand. There is no need for your kids to have this crap in their lunches. Our school doesn't allow stuff like that. My kids get sliced apple or grapes and cheese sandwiches for…

It's pretty normal for weight loss to slow down. Remember, you're in it for the long-haul. Even if your weight loss stalled all-together, it wouldn't be a horrible thing. It would give your body time to adjust to the rapid weight loss and time for you to experiment with new foods/recipes and make it sustainable. I had…

I know, it doesn't sound like it would work, but it does. They look just like regular waffles. Can you share your recipe for cream cheese pancakes? I may try them in the waffle iron, most because it's alot faster than standing there flipping pancakes.
-
Yes, in a waffle iron. I suppose they might work for pancakes too but I've never tried. Having them right now!
-
I would buy 1 dozen and make yourself sick.

Bumping this thread. I have problems with my feet getting sore on the elliptical after only 5 minutes. Always thought it was my weight, but I can hike for hours without this problem. Will try the advice in this thread and lift my feet once in a while.

OLD THREAD!

Those cookies look yummy. I wonder if they sell these in Canada?

95 pounds lost, you're my new hero. :flowerforyou:

Good for your for returning the stuff. I have this problem mostly when I go shopping hungry or with a whiny child. Dangerous!!
-
Keep eating those burgers!

You are waaaay too controlling. Are you forgetting that it's HIS body, not yours. You have no right to be nagging him or making suggestions. Worry about your own body. And stop trying to be his mother. If he wants to change his diet, that's his business. Personally, I would suggest some counselling....for you, not for him.…

The main benefit for me is reducing my appetite. The lower my net carbs, the more my appetite decreases. It's always a big struggle for me to stand within my limits, so this has been very helpful.
-
I like you. I agree, the belt can't possibly make you lose fat.
-
That's great news! It must be nice to see the numbers improving like that. Good work!

I think what the OP is doing is great way to kick-start a lifestyle change, especially if you're addicted to junk food. Having it in the house just increases the chance you're going to eat it, especially if you're tired or stressed. Most people don't have iron will power. Best just not to bring it in the house. I'm sure…

Don't restrict too much. I would suggest upping your calories for the meantime.

I'm feeling the urge to wrap myself right now.
