Get the surgery. It was the best thing I ever did. I had sludge, stones, you name it in there. Plus, I put it off so long that infection had set in and the gallbladder was beginning to fuse to the liver. I felt bad for about 10 days after but after that, I haven't had any problems.

No, they don't. What makes you fat is moving your fork more than you move your *kitten*.

Well, I can't say that school lunches are ideal but when you see what the schools are up against, they are doing the best they can. We have to go with the lowest bidder for food because God forbid we spend one nickel more than the politicians and public think we should. Also, we have 530 kids registered in my elementary…

Many hotel rooms have microwaves and fridges now so call your hotel and ask if your room does. You can bring a cooler and fill it with meals you can microwave. If your room does not have a fridge, keep filling your cooler with ice. When eating out, look for things that are grilled or steamed. Ask for sauces on the side. If…

I bought a digital scale when I started MFP. I hate it! It doesn't matter when I weigh (before eating, after, before going to the bathroom, after, with clothes, without) it is always the exact same weight. I wish I hadn't thrown away the receipt because I'd like to return it and get my money back. I'm going to get a…

I can't manage it when the yoga teacher says to lay on your back and flip your legs back over your head. All that's going on in my head is, "Honey, if I could do that, I wouldn't be fat. Plus my husband would have a permanent smile on his face."

I love, love, love my coffee. I usually drink about 5 cups a day. I used to drink it with cream (whipping cream if I could get it (gasp!)) and about 3 tsp of sugar in each cup. I don't even want to think about how many calories that was. I started by putting in 2 tsp of sugar. Then when I got used to that, 1 tsp, then 1/2…

Well, dinner's over and I ate it. It wasn't terrible but not my favorite thing. The mangoes made it lots better.

Thanks for the mango chutney idea. I think I have mangoes in the fridge. And, heck yeah, he's going to clean up. You cook, you clean.

You should give them a great big smile and say "Congratulations on getting your medical degree! I didn't even know you were in medical school." Then tell them that until they do get their medical degree that you will keep living a healthy lifestyle and they can keep their traps shut.

If I recall correctly, our secretary at work was able to get her abdominoplasty surgery covered by insurance as medically necessary. She had to follow all the post op rules and had to keep the weight off for, I think, 1 year. After that time, the doctor declared the abdominoplasty as medically necessary.

Are we related? My mother basically did the same thing. I learned early that you can swallow lima beans without chewing them. :)

I'm with you. Last night was my son's 16th birthday so I had some ice cream and cake. I've been cutting way down on added sugar (not totally gone but I'm working on it). Today I feel horrible with a terrible migraine (and of course I'm out of medication).

When I was in college and had no car, I would ride my bike a mile to the store. I would bring a backpack and one of those wheeled, wire carts (don't know if you can still get those). I'd pack my groceries in the backpack and cart, attach the cart to the bike with bungee cords and ride home. It looked a little silly but it…

You should try roasting it -- very yummy. Not quite as powerful a flavor as raw but still garlicky with a bit of a sweet undertone. Take a whole bulb (not just a clove but a whole bulb), cut off one end and drizzle with olive oil. Roast at 350 for about 45 min. You don't have to peel it, just squeeze it out the cut end. It…

I drink skim milk. I tried soy milk once by accident and I almost threw up it was so nasty. My teenagers will drink either skim milk or 2%.

My kids have always had 2 options -- eat what is served or go hungry. They may have chosen to go hungry a few times but they did not starve. With any new food, they had to at least try a bite. They are now pretty adventurous eaters and like all kinds of things.

Well, I took a look at your before and after pics at the end of your post, and I think you look lovely. You've done great to lose 50 pounds! Keep it up.

What's a milf?

I just pulled them out of the oven and gave them a try. Not bad. I think that next time I make them I'll try the brown sugar Splenda to give them a richer taste. I think they could benefit from a little salt to bring out the chocolate flavor. I kept the recipe the same except I used cocoa powder.

I am not a vegetarian or vegan so normally I skip recipes labeled vegan but you hooked me with "45 calorie brownies". I think I have everything needed in the cupboards. Can't wait to try them.

I believe under their new program, fruits and veggies are free and they have upped the point values on everything else.

Don't waste your money on this stuff. The only way to lose weight and keep it off is to work with your body and eat a healthy diet that you can maintain. From what you posted, it sounds like you are working against your body. Excessive exercise, laxatives, severely reduced calorie diets are unhealthy and will cause your…

Maryd523, Definition of a product: A thing produced by labor. So yes, even though it offends your sensibilities, cows are products. As is everything that can be raised, grown or fabricated. You and I will never agree on this. You are determined to believe that farmers are evil monsters out to torment and abuse animals and…

"You've got to be kidding me. I can't believe you actually swallow that BS from the website of the Dairy Farmers of America. Look up videos of dairy farms and tell me they are not stressed. They most certainly ARE given constant antibiotics and all kinds of other hormones and chemicals." I've actually been to a dairy farm.…

Ok, I thought I was the only one that found that amusing. :) Just make sure those products are labeled organic.

And consider the source of the OP's article. What do you think the agenda is there?
-
Don't believe everything you read on the internet. Especially when you look at the credentials, or in the case of the site that the OP posted, the lack of credentials of the person or organization putting out the info. I know several people who farm or raise animals and I am getting tired of these folks being treated like…

Sounds interesting to me, like something from the show Chopped on the Food Network. I bet with a little tweaking to make it lower cal, I might be tempted to give it a whirl. Besides, if they're awful, I have teenaged boys who will take them off my hands. :)
