  • This happens to me, too which is why I’m back here. I also find being too ‘nice’ to myself (an approach that’s constantly recommended) makes me complacent and lazy and fat so I’m back to my old mean and counting ways🤷🏼‍♀️
  • The little gear doesn’t link anywhere in the app though. The app seems pretty weak
  • You’re a peach! I think I got it. If not I’ll just forever reference the link you posted, lol. Ty.
  • I see there is a my discussions but that’s only for threads started. Is there something for comments?
  • I actually just made a personal rule that I won’t log anything under 15 calories. It’s too overwhelming at the beginning stages and depending on what you’re logging it’s very difficult to get an accurate intake. I buy bagged salads and I usually eat half in a sitting so I just take the base amount from the information…
  • I thrive in competitive team dynamics so I used to hate exercising at home, but I’ve learned to like it. I’m not at the love stage just yet; However, I’m looking forward to my routines more and more. I’ll tell you what I did: 1. Buy a cardio machine. Any cardio machine. You don’t need to break the bank as there are always…
  • Pickles! Salsa! Vegetables. (I like to splurge on pe cut trays and fancy dip; the dip can be calorific, but not all are - just be mindful.) Cheese.
  • Also. I’m not going to bother you with the ‘diet is important’ speech because you know that and it’s not what you asked. You asked to specific advice related to arms,🤗.
  • We all know you can’t spot train, but IME keeping arms small and shapely rather than toned and muscular is more about constant light weight movements rather than actual weight lifting. Think movements like swimming or kickboxing rather than reps with hand weights. Now. You can absolutely benefit from very light weight hand…
  • I used to love my treadmill. I’d look forward to the time on it. Now I just stare at it... No monitvation lately, but I can feel it coming back. Stepping on the scale helped! Seeing what you gain means you can’t lie to yourself.
  • How does it log the activity? I don’t have a fit bit. Does it just use my phone?
  • It only has one rating. That makes me nervous.
  • I always push through it. If I don’t I get sicker. I would play soccer in sweat pants and a long shirt and sweat it all out. I’d be exhausted, but I always felt better. The one time I went easy I got strep so I’m convinced exercising helps.
  • My goal is 1,500, but I confess I’m going over it daily 😪😪😪. I’ve just started so there’s so tweaking to do, but I’ll give you a follow!
  • Peanut butter is a nice addition, but absolutely useless if you need to feel somewhat full in a 6 h gap. I like clementines. Not filling, but the energy hits you instantly. It’s orange crack. Definitely great for that 2 PM brick wall. Filling or volume foods that are low on calories are naked vegetables. Hard to bake them…
  • 99% of pizza tastes like soggy cardboard. With the exception of a few gourmet places the rest is raccoon food.
  • These! You can get them on Amazon. They're amazing.
  • Have you been keeping an eye on how much you personally fluctuate weight? Everyone is different and there are so many factors. Congrats on your success! Don’t let this deter you. Sorry for the TMO but I can easily fluctuate 2 pounds after a good poop.
  • No advice but I will add that swimming is hard, lol. When I do swim I only do it recreationally and I’m done after 25 minutes, lol. Keep at it! Good luck.
  • Can confirm. I learned about my intolerances this way so well worth it. I approached it like you would a baby. I picked a breakfast lunch and dinner and made them the same for three days and recorded any findings. The meals were pretty basic and bland but it was easier to observe. I learned a few things but mostly was how…
  • When I’m working, soup! Always soup. We make homemade soups and they’re delicious. High in salt, though. When I’m home my go to is bagged salads, toast, baked vegetables.
  • It def depends on weight loss goals, you’re totally right. In my case it works for me because I’m already in maintenance. I’ve been in maintenance for years. I’m trying to push that final threshold so I can go from slim and healthy to skinny and healthy. In order to maintain it I need to get used to eating much less than I…
  • Stormlight Archives. I’m obsessed. Best book I read in 2019.
  • Try different brands! Treat yourself to some fancy water now and then, too. Like Voss. I love water. I love trying all types and from all different taps. Just gotta find some fun in plain old H2O 😺
  • Easiest thing to do is don’t log the exercise until the very very end of the day. Or don’t log exercise calories at all. I’m always nervous I’m over estimating calories burned exercising and I feel like I’m eating too much when they are factored in.
  • Doritos are my vice. I’m trying to allow myself one bag per month instead of my usual bag per week. (Don’t judge me, lol.) anyway I’m looking forward to it! It’s helping me cut back without making me feel like I’m giving too much up. My next bag is January 25! Wooot. Chips are legit the only food I get excited about.
  • I agree. Former competitive soccer player here. I just gave up the sport so I’ve been reflecting about it a lot. Anyway, a lot of teammates were overweight because they didn’t watch their diet so despite the intense exercise they were still fat. Most people don’t even touch competitive sports so I can only imagine how much…
  • I bought one on Kijiji for $100. No way in hell am I spending the same amount of money on a treadmill as I could a nose job. Or a trip to Cuba. Especially in your case as you expect it to take a beating! My advice is to get one ASAP and start your journey. If you keep at it for a year treat yourself to a nicer one.
  • Frozen vegetables and spices are your best friend! The great news is frozen vegetables can be cooked a variety of ways (baked, friend, steamed, boiled, etc.) and they taste great. They also keep their nutrients even being frozen. Same goes for fruit, although fruit can be more expensive. You can play with slices, too.…
