  • My NSV is quite a simple one really. I have major leg and hip issues which stop most cardio workouts. Then in September last year I "discovered" outdoor swimming again and haven't looked back. Low impact on the joints and a good all over workout. I now swim between 3000 and 6000 metres a month regardless of temperatures…
  • It appears that I have put on 2.4 lbs.... Well that equates to about 8500 extra calories which I am pretty darn sure have not been consumed! I think a lot of that gain is probably water retention...at least I hope so!
  • According to my estimates I have 700+ calories left to play with..... I can feel an ale or two coming my way tonight....
  • Lisa, well done on breaking the 200 lbs mark. Excellent work! It's not a thing that I will ever do due to being 6'4" tall and being quite a broad build...I would be way too thin! I don't think anyone would want you ousted for success, that is not what we're about. Enjoy those 14 Jeans and look forward to the size 12s your…
  • Had family visit and a hectic few weeks so didn't get on the site but to top things off nicely I got a bout of this Covid lark just for some added fun and frolics. My weight was at 333lbs or so I believe, having gained back a substantial amount of what I had lost. Now I am not into "Diets" as such and I will definitely NOT…
  • Hello again chaps and chapesses. It has been a while since I have been active on here. The hard work I put in was badly damaged by my absence and I have regained nearly half the weight I had lost. It is blatantly obvious to me now that this calorie tracking lark is going to be like an obesity medication that I will have to…
  • Well the day came and went. Was meant to weigh and measure on Sunday but I got drawn into helping a friend and didn't have time in the morning to sort out the measurements etc (i got up late). Monday 26th April 2021 New start, new goal.* Target Weight = 200 lbs * Rate of Loss = 1-2 lbs a week * Time frame = When I get…
  • Chaps. My sincerest apologies. I have had a rough few months. I didn't so much as "fall off the wagon" as get off, untether the horses and burn the blooming thing! To cap things off nicely, I cannot risk sailing solo and will have to sell my beloved sail boat... I have put on a lot of the weight I had lost but will not…
  • An absolutely awesome start to my week. Tripped over last night and succeeded in breaking my elbow......
  • What triggered my weight loss.... Stepping on the scales to discover I was over 25 stone.
  • The morning is bright and fine here in Plymouth. The sun is shining and the birds are singing.But... It is the first Sunday of the month which means....Weights & Measures Day! What will the Scaly Beast and the Terrible Tape have for me today? Last months weight Was 298.8 lbs...Now 298 lbs...Loss of .8 lbs Measurements Neck…
  • Very sporadic visits from me but I am still lurking around... A tiny bit of good news for me last week. In my ongoing fight against the bulge, and the very frustrating battle with the 300 lbs number, I weighed in on Sunday to discover a very small .4 lbs loss to make it a second week at sub 300 numbers! I am hoping that…
  • I have not been able to post too much lately but I feel I should keep things updated a bit. Well on Sunday 14th February my ongoing fight against the 300 lbs mark took another set back. I weighed in at 301.6 lbs.... This 300 lbs number is not going down without a fight, It's been the better part of 2 months or more now!…
  • It is a bit soul destroying but you have to trust the system. Calorie deficit got us down to the plateau and it will get us off the thing and down to the next. It is a matter of keeping to the regime and carrying on. I set my "graph" goals at 2 lbs a week. I am way behind schedule but the schedule is not important. The…
  • I am a confirmed anti-theist and I wont be giving up a darn thing. However, I will be maintaining my commitment to my calorie control. For the religious on here. Enjoy your lent.

  • Not had much time lately to get on here and acknowledge the efforts from my Bulge battling friends. My apologies to you all. However it is scales day... I have hit something of a plateau lately. Understandable, after a 50+ lbs loss. My weight has been yoyoing a bit. I am hoping that this week I have pushed through this…
  • If the down ticks out perform the up ticks then the progress is in the right direction....
  • Well here we are again. It's 08:35, it's Sunday. That means the "Scaly Beast" is on the prowl once again! I am not too confident with my weeks progress but It shouldn't be too disastrous either... Here we go chaps! Weight was, 301.2 lbs...Now, 300.2 lbs...1 pound loss Not exceptional but if I lose 1 lb every week then I…
  • For some obscure reason I had it in my head that it was Thursday yesterday and today was Friday.... But it is not Friday, it is SCALES DAY! Not good, not good.... I thought I had another day or so. Oh well, let us unlock the Scaly Beast and receive its judgement! Weight was 302.2 lbs....Now 301.2 lbs...lost 1 lb. I am…
  • Scales Day! The scaly Beast was released and I could tell from the way this week has been that the Beast was not going to be kind. Weight was 298.8 lbs...Now 302.2 lbs...Gained 3.4 lbs Not good, those bloomin 300 numbers are not giving up without a fight...all my fault of course. Logged badly, or not at all. Eaten foods…
  • I hit my "Milestone" to be below 300 lbs by 3rd January. Currently on 298.8 lbs and the only mini goal I have for this week is to stay out of those dastardly 300 numbers!
  • This week has not been good. I have been very busy and have either logged badly or not at all. With the new UK lock down in force, things have now gotten less manic for me, hopefully I can rescue this week and not see those dastardly 300 numbers again....
  • THE SCALY BEAST IS ON THE RAMPAGE It's Sunday, 0935 (lazy bugger, i got up late), and the Scaly beast is here... Last Month Weight was, 301.8 lbs...Now 298.8lbs...Loss of 3 lbs. Neck was, 48cm...now 46.5cm...Loss of 1.5cm (I think the Mrs has forgotten how to use a tape measure). Waist was, 127cm...Now 127cm...No Change.…
  • I am somewhat disappointed with myself. Stepped upon the Scaly Beast this morning to discover a 5.8 lbs increase. I expect most of that to be water retention due to excessive carbs but I am still not happy with myself. But, all that yuletide nonsense is now over, new year is of no real consequence, so it is firmly back…
  • I had an excellent Yuletide with an absolutely gorgeous roast. Pork and beef with roast potatoes, greens, carrots, pigs in blankets... I indulged with a few drinks, couple of ales and a couple of rums. Quite a few sweets. All in all a bit of a pig out really... Worked out the calories this morning to find things not as bad…
  • Wishing you all a very happy Yuletide and a thinner new year.
  • 07:10 Sunday morning can mean only one thing... Scaly Beast time! Wasn't looking forward to this, but then I rarely do. Weight was 299 lbs....Now 297.8 lbs....A loss of 1.2 lbs. Just a pinch more daylight between me and that dastardly 300 lbs mark but the scale is heading in the right direction. The next seven days may be…
  • Losing weight is easy to understand. It doesn't matter about what you eat, how much you exercise. Fasting doesn't matter or any kind of "diet plan". Weight loss pills, powders and tea will just lose you money... All that really matters is burning more calories than you consume! As for weighing. Some weigh every day others…
  • Well done Jill, next stop the 100 numbers... It is the day before Scales Day and I am again feeling apprehensive about what the reading will be. I don't think I have been too naughty but I always seam to fear the worst. I think the feelings today are a little more intense due to not wanting to see those bloomin 300 numbers…
  • I hit my "milestone" weight of 299 lbs, three weeks early... I have now given myself two mini goals to strive for. (1) To make sure that I do not drift back into the 300 numbers again. (2) With my weight at 21st 5 lbs, I want to drop my weight into the 20 stone numbers by 3rd January. I am not letting up over christmas,…
