So Friday is my weekly weigh day. Today is week 13 and I started on MFP 40 days ago. My biggest issue is not having any friends who take it seriously and just laugh it off!
Anyway, if it's ok I'd like to share in here?
I am 49 years old, set at 1600 calories a day, I am also making sure I eat more protein than carbs. I am exercising 5 out of 7 days doing Step Aerobics for an hour which MFP calculates at just over 1000 calorie burn.
So I started on 289 lbs and after this week's loss of another 3.5 lbs I am now 264 lbs, so 25 lbs lost in total.
Thanks for reading4 -

I joined MFP a couple of years ago and never really got motivated. In Sept of 2020 I got weighed at the Dr office and was shocked and quite depressed at the number I saw. I weighed 392 lbs and am just under 6 ft tall (5'11 & 3/4). I was also 53 yrs old. Life as an obese person is no picnic (pardon the pun). I rarely wore socks because it was too difficult to put them on. Bathing and hygiene was a problem etc.
I started a new journey in Oct 2020 with a goal of reducing my weight and becoming healthier, as a gift to myself. As of today I'm down approx 70lbs to 322!
I walk every day at least 2KM's and up to 10. I have not eaten (added) sugar, pasta, rice or fast food since Sept 2020. I track what I eat and am aware of calories/carbs/sugar and avoid whenever possible.
My goal weight is 199lbs and I realize it will take a couple/few years and thats fine as I'm enjoying the journey along the way.
I feel much better 70lbs lighter. I can tie my shoes, put on socks and get dressed much easier. Getting in and out of bed or out of a chair is much easier.
I like being less obese!
I'm also on a 106 day streak of logging/journaling on the app.
Since I'm a non smoker non drinker I'll be quite healthy once I fix my obesity problem.

you are doing a great job. I find some of my friends who do not face the same weight challenges I do just don't get "it". It's not like I can just not have an ice cream cone this week and all is well. keep up your good work, and keep posting!! I'd love to see your progress.3 -

Hi all,
I’m back to MFP to get to my goal weight of 160.
My highest weight was 385 I think, give or take a pound or two either way. I think I got tired of weighing at that weight so, I’m not exact.
I managed to get down to 168 with changing my diet, exercise, not eating my feelings, and, for some of the process MFP.
I gained some back and maintained around 175-185 for quite awhile.
For the most part of the process, losing almost 200 lbs, not quite hitting my goal, and then gaining a bit back I was very unhappy with myself, I still felt huge, was still self conscious, felt like a failure because I hadn’t hit my goal, etc...
Fast forward to now, and in the last year I have gone from 185 to 228. Yup. Here we go again is how I feel right now. I could blame it on COVID and the crazy 2020, etc, but the bottom line is I made poor choices and allowed stress, my emotions/low self esteem and life situations to take priority over my health, my choices and doing my best for me.
I started prioritizing my health 1 month ago at 228. As of today I weighed in at 211.8.
I’d like to reach the (seemingly elusive) goal of 160. I know that won’t solve all of life’s problems, but it will remind me that I am strong and I can achieve my goals.
I am 53, 5’8.
Would love to have some MFP friends to give and receive support with, feel free to add me if interested.
Good luck to each of you wherever you are in your process. You are all amazing.

I am really pushing myself this week I need to lose this weight so increased steps and workouts!4

Age 55. 3 weeks ago I was at 210. started trying to loose weight (Want to get to 190). I was dieting on my own, and only got my fitness tracker last week. Dr. visit this week had me at 202.8 (YEA). still a ways to go. just started using this MFP and I love it. It is so easy to see how everything works together and the breakdowns are fantastic.7
-
I didn't know you could have MFP friends? How do you add or request people? Would really help to have someone just encouraging and there to listen and be listened too.......

1.7 pound gain this week. Not proud, but not aggravated either. I gave myself the week to “enjoy” foods. I ate pizza to excess, wolfed down an entire Jimmy John’s sub, and pigged out on Chinese food.
Once again I felt uncomfortably full and guilty afterwards. I know I can enjoy these foods, but simply cut down the portions, but I have portion control issues with my favorite foods—potato chips are the perfect example!
Anyway, I’m back on my logging wagon... logging all of it... and letting the guilt go...
Just now I enjoyed a portion of chips...and I’ll have a large glass of water.
My next hurdle is breaking the 200 pound barrier. This is when I start to self sabotage... but I’ve got a million projects to finish...and when I’m distracted with fun things to do, I snack less.
So glad we’re all on this journey together! Together we can do anything.❤️
Happy Wednesday!

Have a great Wednesday4 -
Starting weight 236 January 3 2021, interim goal 200 by July 1, final goal 160, and 5'8" at age 65
Restarted MFP and logging everything.
Today, 2nd day at 214, slow and steady, only person who sees me is DH due to Covid lockdown, he says he sees a difference. Me, not at all.
Was terribly disappointed when we re-took my measurements as they haven't changed from last year, I'm an avid knitter so it really matters with sweaters. My belt on the other hand has moved 2 notches.
Finding I am planning meals rather than reacting to what I've eaten.
Walking 60 minutes 5 times a week, podcasts are terrific!
Angry and disappointed with me that 5 years ago, was this weight and let it get out of hand. January 3 was my new start as a man on Facebook really resonated with me, his weight loss is astonishing. New mind set altogether.
Sorry for the long post, it's my first. Appreciate what I've read here.5 -
So I'm gutted and upset and confused all in one.
I've had my hardest week yet eating less and exercising massively more and I've lost 1lb
I know I should be happy at that loss but my body hurts so much and I feel like it's been a total waste of time4 -

If you are exercising massively, your body will claim fluid into the muscles to help them heal up. You will see results, it takes time. Massage may help with the pain, good job keeping at it!5 -
Chaps.
My sincerest apologies.
I have had a rough few months. I didn't so much as "fall off the wagon" as get off, untether the horses and burn the blooming thing!
To cap things off nicely, I cannot risk sailing solo and will have to sell my beloved sail boat...
I have put on a lot of the weight I had lost but will not know the full extent of the damage until Sunday morning.
The only good and positive thing that I have to report is that I have made another wagon and am back onboard.5 -
