I had an excellent Yuletide with an absolutely gorgeous roast. Pork and beef with roast potatoes, greens, carrots, pigs in blankets...
I indulged with a few drinks, couple of ales and a couple of rums. Quite a few sweets.
All in all a bit of a pig out really...
Worked out the calories this morning to find things not as bad as I thought they would be.
Bottom line was that I ate about 500 cals over my allotted total but I am working on a 1000 cal deficit so there should be no harm done.....(fingers crossed).

I had quite the sweet fest yesterday and didn’t log anything. I had a one day off the wagon and now I’m ready to get back on. Glad you had a great Yuletide!!

I also chose not to log over the holiday but am ready to get back to it. Like you, I don't think I did too much damage. We shall see. I'm about to make the long walk to the bathroom scale and will report back shortly.

    Sunday Funday checkin

    Three Weeks Ago: 192.8
    Two Weeks Ago: 189.0
    Last week: 189.8
    Today: 187.4

    Down 2.4!

My goal was to hold steady over Christmas. I was aware of what I put on my plate (and what chip bowl my hand was dipping into). However, I also chose not to log and was resigned to seeing a gain. I suspect the loss is actually a product of the good behaviors over the prior weeks, which will make getting back at it today all that much more important.

    Happy New Year everyone!

    Hello friends,

Do not despair if the scale is a fickle friend this week... or during a holiday... or during a birthday... these are very temporary setbacks in the grand scheme of things.

We are now in better control of things... just remember that. Look how far we’ve come! Progress isn’t perfection... it’s ups and downs along the way but the key to success is to keep trying and keep moving forward.

Here is to sticking with it for the rest of this year, and start the new year with renewed spirit and dedication!

    Love you all!

    Jill 🥰

    My goals for 2021 are:

    •30 minutes of exercise/day— 10,000 steps
    —walking my dog
—YouTube videos of walking/dance workout—. low impact on icy days.

    •Logging truthfully and consistently
    —logging as I go
—staying under my calorie goal—no foods are off limits— just being mindful and counting it

•Meal planning to take off stress of what’s for dinner when I get home from work at 7pm

•Drinking more water and logging it

•Keeping in contact with this amazing group of like minded friends. We’re here for each other and this is our year!

    My projects for this weekend...
Declutter, put away holiday decorations, put gifts away, catch up on laundry, and basically clean up the house.

This is a great way to get stuff done and to exercise. Win-win!

THE SCALY BEAST IS ON THE RAMPAGE

It's Sunday, 0935 (lazy bugger, i got up late), and the Scaly beast is here...

    Last Month
    Weight was, 301.8 lbs...Now 298.8lbs...Loss of 3 lbs.
Neck was, 48cm...now 46.5cm...Loss of 1.5cm (I think the Mrs has forgotten how to use a tape measure).
    Waist was, 127cm...Now 127cm...No Change.
Chest was, 132cm...Now 134cm gain of 2cm (I really think my girl needs instruction.)
    B.M.I. was 37.4...Now 37...Loss of .4

    Weekly
    Weight was, 303.6 lbs...Now 298.8 lbs...Loss of 5.8 lbs (mostly water weight)

Apart from the (some what suspect) measurements, things are going well. Yuletide hit me harder than I thought it would and my weight fluctuated above and below that dastardly 300 lbs mark.
The bottom line of this is that I am on schedule.

Now that the "festivities" are over it is time to knuckle down.
In stones/pounds I weigh 21st 4lbs, so the first mini goal is to try to lose 5 lbs to drop me out of those 21 stone numbers.

I did part of Day 1 yesterday and another part today. My form is lacking, but I think it's gonna do me good. I keep reminding myself that just because I can't do all that she does, I will still benefit by doing what I can. And who knows, maybe some day I'll be right there with her.

I did Day 4 yesterday, all the way through (some of my moves were modified to the degree I need presently). I will be doing Day 5 very soon (soon as I finish catching up on the discussions I'm following).

I skipped ahead yesterday for two reasons:
    1) I want to do each day's session that day
    2) The first few days focused a lot on breathing and body awareness. I've practiced tai chi for a number of months in the past, plus I've been on a one week meditation retreat at a Vipassana Center, so I've had plenty of practice with breathing and focusing my awareness (meditating 12 hours/day).

I think her early sessions were mostly for the benefit of newbies. I think she means to get down to business now, so to speak, and I will do my best to hang in there.

This week has not been good.
I have been very busy and have either logged badly or not at all.
With the new UK lock down in force, things have now gotten less manic for me, hopefully I can rescue this week and not see those dastardly 300 numbers again....

You’ve got this, Tone! Even if you see the 300’s, it will be temporary. Tiny hiccups are just that. You have your eye on the prize.

Hi everyone. I'm not new to MFP, returning after months of being away. Thought I could do this on my own but didn't do so well.
I'm 63, 5'2" and weigh 214 lbs. My goal is 140. 2019 was a tough year due to personal and medical reasons and the COVID-19 pandemic sure didn't help! I lost my job due to a shoulder replacement surgery (Dr didn't release me to go back to work as soon as my employer wanted me back), then the pandemic happened and no one was hiring so I decided to take early retirement. Being stuck at home all the time due to corona virus sure didn't help with my weight, I've gained 7 lbs since first of Nov 😳. It's time for me to shake myself off and get back on track!!

    Scales Day!

The scaly Beast was released and I could tell from the way this week has been that the Beast was not going to be kind.

    Weight was 298.8 lbs...Now 302.2 lbs...Gained 3.4 lbs

Not good, those bloomin 300 numbers are not giving up without a fight...all my fault of course.
Logged badly, or not at all. Eaten foods that I couldn't even guess at the calorie content and to top it off the missus made coconut macaroons...I chuffin LOVE coconut macaroons!

    Now for the bright side.
There is no way that I have eaten 10000+ calories over my TDEE so a lot of this is water retention.
The way to correct this is to eat well and stay within the calorie goals. It's not rocket science, just a bit of discipline.
(Now I just have to stop that woman of mine from baking...).
