Developing a Negative Relationship with Food
So, I reached my goal weight back in March (Hurrah!) and was pretty thrilled (and terrified!) that I was going to be at maintenance. That I was going to eat more than 1200 calories a day + exercise (though I came in with only 20lbs to lose, I found the forums too late. Oh well.), and that I wouldn't have to worry about the…

Finally, after four years!
I finally hit my goal weight today! I've been seriously working on weight loss since January 1, 2012 (I dabbled a bit starting in 2007 and lost 20lbs on the Special K diet, didn't gain it back, but didn't keep it up either). I pretty much knew zero about what I was doing when I started. I did try tracking calories on paper…

Race weekend!
I haven't even been running for a year, but hours of training and practice has paid off. I ran the Flying Pig this weekend. I did the 5k, 10k, and half-marathon. I finished in the top 25% for all races. I've come so far and I never thought I'd feel so good and be in such good shape! :')

Giving Foods a Second Try
Have you given foods you previously thought you wouldn't like (though you never tried them) or foods you remember hating or disliking in your youth, only to give them another shot as an adult and discover they're delicious? I've been doing a lot of this lately. My foods: Cauliflower (now I eat it raw for lunch and have…

The Deli Counter
Has anyone ever asked to see the nutrition info while perusing deli meat at the counter at the grocery store? Were the workers annoyed? I tried asking this on Facebook as I used to work at Kroger and have friends that still do, but a few friends and family are getting worried about my determination to track. I guess it…

Stomach like mine?
Hello, all. Lately, I've been feeling rather discouraged at the state of my stomach. I know you can't spot reduce, strength training is really the key, and a calorie deficit will help everything go down, but it seems like every part of my stomach is going down except the area around my belly button. Usually when…

Macro Goals for Runners?
I'm relatively new to the running game, but I'm really enjoying it and am planning on doing more distance running. I'm just curious what others may have their macros set to. I have mine set at MFP's default, though I do try and get more protein. I run around 30+ miles a week, five days of strength training, one rest day,…

Did I totally misunderstand?
So I have the feeling that I've totally misunderstood how I'm supposed to up my maintenance calories. :frowning: I don't know how, since I've been reading a lot of the threads in here, but I've been raising my calories 100 a week. Should I have been adding 100 a day? I'm feeling kind of like an idiot if that is the case.…

Chucked into Maintenance
Did anyone else find themselves unceremoniously chucked into Maintenance? I hit my goal weight last week (yay!) but I was completely shocked. Primarily, because I had been losing about .5lb - 1lb a week and then I stalled, four pounds away, for two weeks. So I tightened up my weighing (got a better freaking scale that…

Preserving Apple Slices
I know a lot of us felt a little betrayed to see how many calories and sugar were in apples. I especially LOVE Honeycrisp apples. They are my favorite and I love the fall when they are in season. But I stopped eating them when I joined this site. Recently my grocery store had Piñata Apples along with a sample, and I liked…
