Do you see benefits in other areas?
When I was really good shape, I noticed that it was impacting (positively) other areas of my life. I not only felt better, had more energy, etc. but, I noticed that I was much more focused. There was something about going to the gym, putting my headphones in, and getting in to my work out on a daily basis that I just felt…

Designing my health around life, not the gym.
The headline was the best I could think of for 530am. At current, I'm beginning my health/fitness journey from scratch. I had a pretty serious back injury two years ago, went through 9 different docs to finally get one that would treat me for what I had and not what they wanted to assume I had (or make money on). My mental…

Returning from injury. Two years later.
It's good to be back. 2 years ago, I was in fantastic shape. Enter herniated disc, stenosis, and 9 doctors. The journey has been long. The journey has been difficult. I'm looking forward to getting back to everything now that I'm finally finding myself physically feeling better. I want to drop the weight that I've gained,…

Active friends on MFP
I started back to MFP a few days ago. I suffered a back injury last October that I've been dealing with ever since. Still trying to get to the bottom of it. I went from being in really good shape to not. I figured it would be best for me to get my nutrition back in order and have a bit of accountability to myself. I have a…

Back issues
For the last year, I have dealt with a back injury. I was able to have a rotating string of good and bad days often enough to work around it. Then I got to a point where I couldn't work around it. I haven't been to the gym in months. I thought just stopping would allow my body to heal, but I wake up every morning with…

Virginia, anyone?
Greetings, folks! I'm starting over. Uhgain. I've been dealing with a back injury all year. Haven't seen the inside of a gym since May. Haven't run since June. I've used it all as an excuse to get off track and mope about it. I started back on the right path yesterday. I cant workout and have a few more docs appointments…

Slight struggle staying on track
Lately, I've had the hardest time motivating to eat right or even go to the gym. My mood has been fine. I'm not depressed or beating myself up for falling off track. I just can't seem to get motivated to keep moving forward with everything. I don't understand what the deal is! Thoughts? Remedies?

Intermittent Fasting
I've read so much about it. It's sort of this back and forth: No, it doesn't work. Yes, it works like a charm. Anyone have any thoughts? Tried it? Success? Fail?

Any Breatharians here?
Did anyone else read the ridiculous article that went viral about the couple that survive only on "what the Universe provides and air'? I guess they toss in some vegetable broth here and there. I'm pretty sure it was a complete hoax, but all the same news organizations ran with it like it was a bag of $20 bills.

Making a return...care to join me!?
I lost close to 40lbs last year and got in to amazing shape. I fell off a bit during the holidays and have been up and down through 2017. I haven't lost much ground, but enough that I know I need to get back on track. Thus, I am making a return to MFP. Where I found some good friends and accountability before. If anyone…

Workouts + Diet = Guilt?
Ok, it's not exactly like it sounds in the title. For some, workouts are everything and diet..eh, not so much. For others, diet is everything and maybe a workout happens a few times a week. But, for me... I actually find that I have more success with my diet if I'm working out on a regular basis, because GUILT. Knowing…

Northwestern Va, anyone?
Finally got my family out to Winchester, Va! Looking for other fitness newbies, veterans, etc. in the area that might be looking for a bit of mutual accountability. Always helps to have a friend on the journey of fitness. So whether it's a jogging partner, lifting partner, someone to add to a rec team, or a bar hopping…

Proof that hard work pays off..
Proof that if you really want to do something, you can: October 2014, I barely passed my Army PT test to save my career. I was being processed for discharge for not maintaining the fitness standards, unless I could pass my PT test. I passed, but barely. This morning, I fell just 6 points shy of a perfect score on my test.…

Right Back At It Again
Well...right back to MFP. I didn't stop my fitness journey. It actually went up a gear. I'm just looking to get back into the more social/ supportive side of MFP, so I figured I would drop in and say hey. I'm currently deployed, but I've lost 33lbs over the last year and I'm in probably the best shape I've been in in a…

Need motivating friends?
I've noticed that my friends list is a little thin and I'm just looking to add some folks who might be interested in a little mutual motivation. Take a look at my profile, if we jive, add me up!!

Looking for some friends
Just looking for a few like minded people. Those interested in being healthy and getting fit. I've been away from MFP for about two months. Got injured and required surgery. But, now I'm back and have a pending deployment towards the end of the year. Gotta make sure I'm in good health and shape for that. If anyone is…
