Today's NSV
So today I moved back into my apartment (college student) and while I was moving stuff in one of my roommates showed up. The look of disbelief on his face when he saw me was amazing. The last time he saw me I was 191 lbs and a size 14. Today I am 152 and a size 10. He stood there in shock and then spent five minutes…

Met my first goal, time to continue on my journey (pics included)
My entire life I have been overweight. Even when I was participating in sports as a child I was always heavy because I could not stop eating. I ate because I was happy. I ate because I was stressed. I ate because I was bored. In short, I just ate. Between my freshman and sophomore years of high school I lost a lot of…

My NSV today
So my grandma took me to some outlets today to buy some clothes. I was hesitant because I knew the kind of stores at the outlet and was sure I wouldn't fit any of them. Well we got there and we started walking through stores. I found a pair of jeans shorts that I was in love with. It was at American Eagle, but I decided to…

My own personal tool
Hey everyone! So a fact about me. I like numbers and data. I like seeing how data changes over time and I like using data to predict trends into the future. So, when I started my weight loss journey I collected as many data points as I possibly could. I created an excel spreadsheet and kept track of my journey. Over time I…

Almost at my halfway point! (26 lbs lost)
So even thought I have not reached my goal weight yet, I am almost at the halfway mark and this is a large milestone for me! This is the first time I have been below 165 in over 6 years and it feels amazing. I decided that since I am almost at my halfway point I would post some pics of my progress so far. So far this is…

It just does not want to go away!
So since last Sunday I have been fluctuating up and down with the same .8 of a pound. Now I know weight loss isn't linear and that this does happen. I am not freaking out and I have tightened up on my logging and food weighing. My question is: What do you do when you have just a little bit of pesky weight that refuses to…

Proud of myself!
Last week my family and I went on a vacation to seattle. Although I did a lot of hiking and such I consistently ate high calorie/sodium/carb foods in way to large of portions. I gained about 6lbs (water weight). In the past i would have considered this a monumental failure and thrown in the towel. This time, however, I…

Need to work on my control
so I am a college student and a HUGE procrastinator. It is almost the end of the semester and I am hitting that time when I do all of my work. This semester is no worse than any other but now that I am being conscious about what I eat I realized how bad I binge when I'm stressed. Last night I ate half a medium pizza and…

They finally fit!
...well almost. So about two months ago I tried to put on my favorite jeans and realized that I couldn't even pull them up the whole way :( Well today I decided to give them another try and... They buttoned!!! They are still too tight for me to sit but it's a start and it's nice to see even little things like this!

Losing weight on a college diet (suggestions needed)
Okay so first off I should say that this is my 3rd attempt at using MFP since I have started college 3 years ago. The first two times I tried it lasted for about 2 months each. My problem with sticking to using MFP and trying to stick to a calorie counting diet is that I am on a college budget. I do not have the money to…
