Macro Question
I'm confused. What sets the macro percentages? Is it only based on daily calorie allowance I.e. everyone on a 1200 diet would be attempting the same ratios, or do other things such as age and bin come into play? My recommended ratio is 50/30/20 per mfp. Are there any scenarios where this should be different?

Trying to lose weight and Stop Smoking
Hi been using mfp for about a month and have lost a few pounds. Not sure if it is due to my efforts with food and exercise or health reasons. Exercise DVD's
I have a DVD called Silver & Fit. Does anyone know how to figure calories burned for an exercise video. It is both stretching, cardio and strength training for seniors and/or beginners, partially done sitting down.

Carbs- Good and Bad
Why do we only track the total carbs in any diet program. Seems to me carbs should be broken down similar to the way we break down fats. If I eat a lot of veggies and healthy carbs in a day I could still be over my goal even if those are healthy carbs? Is there a diet plan in existence that treats these carbs differently?…
