Exercise DVD's

I have a DVD called Silver & Fit. Does anyone know how to figure calories burned for an exercise video. It is both stretching, cardio and strength training for seniors and/or beginners, partially done sitting down.

It's hard to say because any movement is better than no movement but you don't want to overestimate. "Stretching Hatha Yoga" has a relatively low calorie burn in MFP. Maybe try that for a few weeks and if you don't see that you are losing, override the amount of calories it gives you with a lower amount.

    I would go with this^

If there's a separate cardio section you could use low impact aerobics. But to use aerobics for the whole DVD would be inflated.

Ok so I ended up creating an exercise for the Silver & Fit DVD at 75 calories which is more than light housecleaning but less than the low impact aerobics. Hope that's a good guess. Any thoughts?

How long is the video? One option is to not log it at all but enjoy the bonus weight loss and wellbeing you will get from doing the DVD. If it was 75 Cals and you eat back half the calories (as is sometimes recommended) you will only be eating an extra half an apple anyway. Keep up the good work!

I think that sounds pretty fair but I totally guess my burns anyway.
