Progress photo 140 Lbs lost.
Hi everyone - I haven't been very active in this group, but am missing the community of friends I've found on MFP since I changed my plan. I was going to have surgery, but changed my mind after the 6 month insurance approval process. I had gotten so far as to have a surgery date. From June, 2015 till now I've lost 140 Lbs.…

Got my date, but second thoughts...
So - I got my date for gastric bypass - 3-2-16 (hooray!) But now, Im really having second thoughts. First - I've always been overweight. I'm 45. I started this process in June feeling like I had no hope. Through visits with my surgeons office, diet and exercise I've lost 120 lbs (yippee!). I started at 420, CW 300. The…

Anyone have a Misfit Tracker? Would like some buddies there.
Hi guys - I got a Misfit tracker - I choose it because it's simple looking and can be used for swimming. But - most people I know have other devices (fitbit!!!). Anyway - I'd like some friends! My userid is creepykbear if you'd like to add me.

Saying goodbye to 2015
I heard a bit on the radio tonight - what do you want to leave behind in 2015? My first thought was 100 lbs! And I'm taking steps to make that a forever left behind 100. So in spirit of leaving things behind I'm going to go through my clothes and get rid of the too big stuff - I don't need it anymore. And I won't ever need…

70 Lbs down - progress pic
I still have a long way to go - but I started at 420 and I'm down to 350! I was having trouble seeing the loss in the mirror - but my hubs found an old picture that really demonstrates that yep - I'm doing it... The before pic is from Jan - but I didn't start my program till June, so this is 4 months of hard work.

70 LBS progress pictures - Pre Op
I'm feeling uninspired lately, but my husband found a picture of me from Jan that really does show I'm making progress! I'm down 70 Lbs - but feel like it doesn't really show. I'm still in Preop phase - doing low carb/low fat & exercise. Thanks to all of you for your encouragement and helpful advice!

Your favorite post surgery gadget, water bottle, kitchen tool or whatnot?
I've seen people talk about the ninja blenders and freezing food in ice cube trays or using baby spoons... but what works for you? What is your favorite food prep item to use post - op? Also - anyone got a good water bottle recommendation? I'm worried about going without a straw (it seems a silly thing to worry about, but…

How to approach "but you're losing so much now you won't even need surgery!"
So, I've been pretty open telling people I'm having WLS in January. I'm close to 60 lbs down in my preop stage, and hope to lose another 40 or so before then. I talk to different people about weight loss and what I'm doing and have several times gotten the reply "but you've lost so much you won't even need surgery!". (I…

Skin
I looked back a few months and couldn't see where this has been talked about - so I'm just going to ask - What have you found that helps reduce excess skin flabbiness? I'm in my 6 month preop period - lost 40 lbs thus far on low carb - aiming for another 40 before surgery in January. I'm really afraid of what's going to…

Another newbie
Hi everyone, I'm Krista. I've been on a weightloss journey on and off my whole life it seems. I was at one point down to around 250, which is the lowest adult weight I remember (taking phentramine) but then of course it all snuck back on, and then some. I started again at 420. I've decided to undertake the process of…
