I meant to post about this last week - but then I got busy with work.... I was on track to have gastric bypass - went through the whole entire process with the surgeons office. I did a 6 month insurance required diet and exercise program, got approved, got a date, then decided I had lost enough on my own to keep going.…

Same for the plan as losing it... old saying.. not a diet it's a lifestyle change. My lifestyle now includes more exercise and less snacks :)

Thanks everyone for your comments. I went and saw the NP at my surgeon's office today. The surgeons are moving practices, so how that's going to affect my insurance in the future I'm not sure about. She said my approval should be good for a year. I work 12 hour night shifts - sometimes walking 6 miles a night and standing…

Agreed - mine was an 8 month process all together. I started June 2 and by the time I finally got approval it was for late Jan for surgery on March 2. On my preop diet from my surgeons office I've lost 120 lbs, I never thought I had an option other than surgery. I still think I'm going to do it (I still have another…

LOL - I was just joking (and laughing/crying at the same time) over my boobs. My hubby went to grab my waist and touched a boob instead. I said that one of my starting measurements should have been from my nipples to the floor! I haven't even had surgery yet - but 115 lbs gone and my girls not nearly as full as they once…

I'm at the hurry up and wait stage too. I started my pre-op plan on June 6, have done 6 months of supervised weight loss, met the surgeon on Dec 8. The surgeon office finally got my paperwork in last week to the insurance, but now the insurance says we have potentially not met their 2 years insured by them process (which…

Here's pics of my hubby and myself at new years this year and last. 100 lb difference for me, at least 40 lbs for him. And today - my picture on the scale - first time under 300! (this is from the pre-op diet, still waiting on a date).

I'm not even sure I could lift a backpack made of the weight I've lost... wow... nice message !

I've been using a premier protein premixed vanilla, one packet of diet (20 cal) hot chocolate mix - in the micro for about 1 min or 2, then a TBSP or two of sugar free peppermint torani syrup.

I tried my own version of eggroll in a bowl tonight.

You're doing so great!

So inspiring you are! (channeling Yoda today I guess - haha!). My hubby is a nurse so I got myself in house wound care!! Glad stuff is ok.

The 103 pound loss has been on the pre-op diet (low carb, low fat). I've been working it since June. So no maintenance yet, still losing while waiting for insurance. My surgery goal weight for myself is 299. In the past I have lost weight time and time again, then gained it back plus more. I want the surgery to help this…

Thanks for asking this - I'm having the same issue. I met with my surgeon yesterday. I've lost 103 lbs on the 6 month preop diet - Yep, this is awesome, but I still have so far to go (another 150+). At this amount to lose it seems that RNY would be the best for me, but yet, the surgeon thought I would want the sleeve and…

Today I did measurements - for the first time I could get the tape measure to close all the way around my hips. Down 10 inches there!

I use the premier protein premade shakes with cold coffee all the time. Also loving the sugar free torani syrups (white chocolate and peppermint are my faves for now). It tastes like a "treat" but still getting my stuff in.

Everyone looks so awesome! I really like the android app photogrid. Easy to use, lets you add backgrounds and text.

Limit your portions (maybe about 6oz meat, 1 cup veggies). Sub in a protein shake for a meal or two Reduce some of the higher fat foods Increase protein even more Exercise -or if you already are kick it up a notch either length or intensity

I'm not sure if you are full or part time, or in the US, but if you are full time in the US there is FMLA (family medical leave act) they have to give you 12 weeks off in a calendar year with no penalty to your job, assuming you've worked enough hours in the previous year. I would let them know ASAP that you are going to…

You look amazing! Hard work is paying off!

I'm doing low carb/low fat - the diet has been in prep for weight loss surgery which I'm probably going to have in Jan 2016. The photo was in my backyard - we live in AZ, so it's nice out still. I'm eating about 1200-1500 calories a day and working out 6ish days a week for 20-30 minutes. I was doing swimming or aqua…

You're looking great! I feel you about not feeling like you've lost weight. I'm 70 lbs down with much more to go - but yet, I don't feel like I was as big as I was or how much I've lost. My clothes do tell their own story - yep, they're falling off, I've lost weight! I work in healthcare and had a patient who was 420 lbs -…

I know each surgeons office differs, but mine preop lady did say I could have 1 cup of coffee a day post op. I drink the cold starbucks in my protein shake with some sugar free torani syrup. Yum.

I've been putting smoked paprika on it - love that stuff

Everyone's posts are so inspiring! Way to go 2Poufs! I was wearing some comfy pants yesterday doing work around the house...put my phone in my pocket the the pants fell off! I was so amazed I had to go show my hubs :)

You can do it! 47 lbs is awesome. My surgeons office wanted me to lose 60-80 lbs before my surgery (I'm at 60 now). I did it with low carb/low fat - which has really helped me not be hungry and controlled my crazy out of control sweet tooth in a way I didn't know possible. I'm looking to get bypass in Jan (hopefully will…
