Am I big or is it muscle?

Always hungry....is that normal?
In late August I decided I wasn't at a healthy weight, so I tried out and made a beach volleyball team. I lost a lot of weight quickly even though I ate the same amount of food (roughly 1,700 calories). Now I'm constantly hungry, even after I eat a sandwhich or some soup. Is this normal? Best subsitute for running on sand
I'm on a beach volleyball team for my college, and on the days were I don't have beach volleyball, I work out in the gym. I use the eliptical on the highest resistance setting and run on that for a while, then use the pylo-boxes. Are there any other gym workouts to help me move quicker in the sand? Thanks for your input!!
