My Story - and Struggle with WLS
In August if 2012 I had the Lap band placed. For two agonizing years, I dealt with what I had thought were side effects of the band: vomiting, slow weight loss, unable to eat anything with substance. In March of 2014 I had the band and my gallbladder removed, I was 278 pounds (down from 315). By August of 2014 I had eaten…

Gastric sleeve with weight gain - emotional eating issues - could use some people who can relate!
I'm Lindsey. I had the gastric sleeve in August of 2014 and on top of being a slow loser (emotional eating issues) I have managed to gain 20 pounds of the weight I did lose back. The 20 pound weight gain I have had since the end of August 2016 is taking its toll on my knees and back. I am hoping to be more focused and use…

Modified Bariatric Keto .. Anyone?
Trying a modified version of the keto eating plan (for bariatric patients). The fat is limited more than with the regular plan. Just looking to try and change the types of carbs I eat: breads/simple carbs VS complex carbs -- not looking to severely restrict. Here is the link if anyone is interested:…

The Train Almost Derailed .. and it's only Day TWO :(
I read (& printed out) an article from the MFP Blog about five ways to try and beat binge eating disorder. I have been diagnosed with that and it's a HUGE reason for the weight gain. Today I tried to fight the urge .. cookies this time. I took the pause, gave myself the 2 or 3 minutes and then as much as I tried to fight…

Don't put cashews in your protein shakes .. (not sure why this is here .. it's not a challenge)
...167 calories for an extra 5 grams of protein is just not worth it (although it makes it taste yummy).
