Since I am doing this at home and have no clue what I'm doing, thought I'd ask. Is there a certain amount of time I should spend on this? How do I know when I should get heavier dumbbells. I only have 2 pounders right now. Is there a website that can explain what and how I should use them properly? Thanks.

Is calorie counting really going to work?
I've been at this myfitnesspal thing for over a week now at 1200 calories per day. Though I've been trying portion control for over a month and cut out sodas over 3 weeks ago and am drinking only water now. If I google lots of sites come up saying calorie counting doesn't work. Looking for support.
With my first week accomplished, I figure I better quit lurking and actually look for support as I don't get any at home.
