Foods I Add to Database
If I add a food to the database, and check the box to let others use it, can they also change the nutritional info? I'd hate to go to all the trouble of creating it based on what the package in my hand says, only to have someone change it, because their older package says something else.

Getting Back on Track After Illness?
I was taken out for two days by a migraine and the accompanying nausea, weakness, light sensitivity, etc. This is the first time since January of this year, that I have had one that bad - no activity (bathroom and back only), just bed rest. Couldn't eat anything the first day, and choked down a plain pre-packaged salad and…

Why Do I Need To Confuse My Body?
I chose things to do for physical fitness and activity that I love. I run for 60 minutes 5 days/week. I hike for over 2 hours a day on the weekends (so many interesting and varied trails to choose from) and will be adding 30 minutes of weight training Saturday & Sunday, starting in June. I stay active for at least 10 hours…

Changing My Mindset
I have successfully lost weight several times in the past. What I have been unsuccessful at, is maintaining that weight loss over time. Going back to old habits is the culprit. So, this time around I decided I needed to make permanent lifestyle changes. Part of that, for me, is being mindful of my behaviors. One of the…

Goals: Fitness: Calories Burned / Week
On my Goals page, under Fitness, for "Calories Burned / Week" the value is set at "610". That seems awfully low for the 7 workouts that I set it for each week. No matter what I change it to, when I go back to the page, it is right back at "610"! I have tried doing a search for that field, but I can't find anything that…

Good Food, Bad Food
Bad food? I have seen the hotly contested debates about why there is no "bad food". That it is all about portion control. So, I will just say, non-nutritious foods. Foods, that while they may taste good, and/or bring fond memories, and/or be comforting, or whatever, these foods and I will have to from now on have a…

Need Help Increasing Weekend N.E.A.T.
Here are the facts: 1. During the week I am in a very large square footage, open area, which I use to my advantage to meet my calorie burn, steps, activities, etc. goals. 2. On the weekend, I am in a much, much smaller square footage area, with the usual furnishings, known as my home. 3. I live in an area, that starting…

CICO
Question(s): If my daily calorie goal is say, 1500 calories/day and by the end of the day I burn 1500 calories/day theoretically, will I be able to maintain my current weight? Or, If my daily calorie goal is say, 1500 calories/day and by the end of the day I burn 2250 calories/day theoretically, will I be able to lose…

Food Diary "Your Daily Goal" Keeps Getting Lower
I have MFP synced to my Fitbit account but go by MFP for my exercise calories earned. For some reason, today, the more calories I burn, the lower "Your Daily Goal" gets! This has never happened before. In the past, the more calories I burned, the higher "Your Daily Goal" would get. Thank goodness I didn't eat them all…

Injured Knee Lower Body Resistance Training?
It's a 6 year old injury, and after extensive PT, it works fine. Usually. I did fine with my resistance training through 2014, but slacked off and gained a bunch of weight back over the years. Fast forward to 2018 and I am back on track, but this go-round, my knee is protesting my former routine of squats, plies and…

Future Meal Planning on MFP?
Does anyone fill in meals days in advance on MFP? I want to do this, but worry that I will mess up some algorithm that calculates my stats. (I tried doing this on the Fitbit site and had to have tech support correct it back, because you can't modify to see what your future stats will be on that site.)

Fiber Conundrum
I just found out my goto fiber supplement is no longer being fulfilled by Amazon and the price from other suppliers is not cost effective. Then, I look at my MFP reports for the past few months, and even taking 3x the amount of fiber supplement daily, I reached the 25g/day exactly once! So, I need to start eating more…

Consumable Pet Peeves?
I was going to call this "Food Pet Peeves" or "Edible Pet Peeves", but then I thought of beverages, supplements, vitamins, etc. So, I settled on "consumable - adjective: 1. (of an item for sale) intended to be used up and then replaced. noun: 1. a commodity that is intended to be used up relatively quickly. "drugs and…

Living With People That Buy Lots of Tempting Snack Foods
How do you cope? So far, I have been able to work some temptation into my calorie allowance for the day. But, I prefer to use my calorie "dollars" ("$"1200/day) for healthy stuff, because I know I need the nutrients. But man, I just went to get a bottled water, and there was a new box of something fattening and…

Exhaustion/Stress Overeating
I am hoping to get tips on how to preemptively avoid overeating when I am exhausted and/or stressed. Of course, the best course of action would be to never be exhausted and/or stressed, but this is real life, and stuff happens. :s When it does, all my resolve, good intentions and self-care just go the way of the dinosaurs.…
