Women's spin shoes
I am looking for recommendations on a preferably leather spin shoe. I have a long, narrow foot so I need a women's specific shoe. I impulsively bought some Pearl Izumi's with all Velcro closures. I think I'd do better with a closure other than Velcro. There are so many brands to choose from, it's overwhelming! If anyone…

Knox Jello Blocks making a comeback!
I am getting over Lyme's disease. When I was symptomatic all I could stomach was Knox Blocks and Sprite Zero. I remember eating Knox Blocks all the time growing up at swim meets and loved them. Now I keep a pan of them in the fridge all the time. I use sugar free Jello so they are low cal and I think the Knox is supposed…

Pre workout supplement
I have been curious about pre workout supplements for a while wondering if they were for me. I haven't purchased any yet because I wonder if they are part of the fitness fads/money makers. If you are a believer in them, what products do you recommend? Thank you.

I got "InBodied"
My gym now has an InBody machine so I took the free opportunity to see if my BF changed from 16%. It did! I am now 14%. The super cool thing is that I am not specifically trying to lose BF. I am at maintenance and learning how to listen to my body, finally! Thanks MPF and all of you.

In a funk...
I felt like I was at the top of my game with my daily lifts, spin classes, and hikes. I started eating more and able to work harder at exercise after years of not eating enough and feeling tired. I was bitten by and pulled two ticks off of me and starts to get sick and very tired and fatigued. I went to the doc and was put…

Increasing metabolism?
For most of my life I have been eating lots of lettuce and minimal food struggling to lose weight (the last 5-10 lbs) I am very active. Since I have Been on MFP, I have learned to eat a well rounded diet, eat more calories and listen to my body. I am eating nearly double the calories (increased protein) used to eat, still…

Wonder if I work out too much
I am medically retired from the USMC. I am a 48 yo female, 136 lbs, 5'6". I love working out. I get to the gym or step off on a run and I am so fired up about my work out I go all out. I spin 3 days a week, lift approx 75 min on spin days. Two days a week I run ( yesterday was 11 miles) or spin without lifting. I also hike…

Since we have determined that gym equipment isn't the most accurate for counting calories...
I have a Vivo hr by Garmin for daily wear and love it but it doesn't work too well for lap swimming. I also have an antiquated Garmin 910 XT which is a good piece of gear but I find the telementary strap is cumbersome. I am considering the Garmin 935. It is pricey but I want it! I was wondering if anyone could offer up…

I am programmed to deprive myself!
I had a great revelation that I wasn't eating enough for my life style. Once I started eating properly, I had so much more energy and could crush my spin classes, runs, and weight lifting. Some how it crept back in my mind that I needed to lower my calories again so I did and gradually over the week have been feeling run…

My favorite motivational quotes, what are yours?
If I am struggling on that last rep or running up a steep hill I think "you gotta earn it!." I actually us his in all areas of my life. I was in the Marines for 16 years and I like "The change is forever." "Food is a tool" to fuel my body so I can workout harder. It isn't something to appease my emotions. My all time…

Despite lifting and gaining muscle, I am obsessed with the number on the scale
I went to a sports physiologist, a recommendation from my dietician. I am a female, 5'6" and weigh 137. I eat 1500 cal a day based on what the dietician said and don't eat exercise calories. I learned yesterday that I should be eating about 1800 calories per day to properly fuel my body so I can workout more intensely…

Sodium
I have been racking my brain trying to figure out why in five years of basically eating the same types things (healthy) I am experiencing a slow gain. I am 5'6", now weigh 137, 18% body fat. I am female and 48. I workout 5 days per week; 3 days of lifting as heavy as I can and two days of cardio; running 6-8 miles or just…

Running rut
I run two days per week and lift three. When I run, I run the same paved route and approx the same distance. Do our bodies get used to the same distance/time running? I am going on a trail run today to switch it up, it won't be as many miles but hopefully the change will jump start me a bit.

Straight from the nutritionists mouth
I have tracked for a long time (years) and have been an avid exerciser for longer than that. I have only posted a couple times but wanted to share some things that were just revealed to me at my appointment with a nutritionist! I am a 48 year old female, 5'6" 136 lbs. I run and lift and am pretty active when I am not…

Frustrated
I am 5'6 and am currently 137 lbs. I lift three days a week for 75 min plus 10-15 min of cardio warm up. I run two days per week 6-8 miles per day. I hike with my dog about 4 days per week 1-2 miles. My calories from MFP are suggested at 1540. I am pretty acurate with logging my calories. I just can't get back to 130. I do…

Food scale
I broke my last food scale ( melted it...oops) so I need a new one. I bought an AcuHealth one from Amazon that figures out macros but I thought the scale was not up to par. I looked at WW but theirs count points for $40. I am not counting pints. Sooooo since I am in the market, I was wondering if anyone had a scale that…
