Have my annual physical today
And I'm actually excited about it. Last year my "bad"cholesterol was high and my blood pressure was up. Since then I've made major changes in my diet, and have taken up Pilates in addition to walking at least 8000 steps per day. I'm really hoping it's made a difference. I'll report back!

Name a movie everyone else seems to love, but that you can't stand
Pretty Woman La La Land Anything with Adam Sandler

Eating when hungry not when it's "meal time"
In the US, the standard accepted meal pattern is breakfast, lunch and dinner, with dinner being the largest meal. I have realized we all accept this as the norm, but my body's hunger doesn't work that way. I am never hungry before 10 am, so tend to skip breakfast and just have juice with my fiber supplement. I am hungriest…

Pilates question
I have been going to Pilates religiously 6 days a week for the past 7 weeks. I go to both level 1 and 1.5 classes. Level 1 is actually too easy, but I'm not ready for level 2 yet. Some days level 1 timing just works better. So, I thought by now I'd see radical differences in my body but I don't. I do see a little change…

Name one food or bev that's not good for you but you refuse to give up
For me, it's real cream in my coffee. 2 cups every morning. I tried low fat milk, but it's just not the same. I love it so much I'm willing to give up other things to accommodate the calories.

Pilates!!
Why didn't I discover this 20 years ago? I'd look like Madonna by now! I started doing Pilates 3 weeks ago and absolutely love it. I have tried so many other things- yoga, boot camp, spinning, running, swimming, etc. This is the first exercise that I actually look forward to, and enjoy while I'm doing it. I have been going…

Day two AGAIN!
But feeling great! I was feeling really down last week, and so many of you offered support and kindness. I am now on day two of no alcohol (I waste way too many calories on wine!) and staying within my calories. For the first time in months, I woke up feeling good and proud of myself. I can't thank you all enough. <3

Need cheering up
I am so sick of waking up hating myself. I feel fat, unattractive, depressed and with zero self esteem. Can someone please tell me anything to make me want to get through this day?

Best dating sites?
Ok I think I'm ready to meet someone. Tried Tinder and hated it- it's not really good for people over 50. Anyone had any success with others?

Best meal delivery
I've been getting Sunbasket- they deliver two meals per week. I get to choose the meals, but it's really difficult finding many low calorie, healthy recipes. Most involve sautéing the chicken or even the veggies in oil. Are others better? I know there is Blue Apron, Hello Fresh, Home Fresh, etc. Would like to hear if…

Best joke ever-- add your fav
A guy sits down in a bar next to a grasshopper. He says "Hey! Did you know they named a drink after you?" And the grasshopper replies "They named a drink 'Steve'?"

Used a holiday as excuse to go crazy
Wow, went WAY off my diet yesterday. Feeling angry at my self, but I'm jumping right back in and getting back on track. Anyone else relate??

Free advice for younger people
If you are overweight, get control of it now while you're young! I am in my 50's and I will tell you it's 10 times harder to lose weight as you get older. In my 20's and 30's I could drop 5 pounds with little effort. But now between menopause and my metabolism slowing down it's a daily struggle. Be well!

Cholesterol confusion
I just had lab work done and my doctor said my cholesterol is the highest she's ever seen and wants to put me on medication. I don't understand this because I never eat fast food or fried food. When I cook, I use either grape-seed oil or olive oil, and I try to use sparingly. What foods should I be staying away from??

New to working with weights- advice
I'm in my early 50's and have not worked out with weights for years (ok a lot of years). I am mainly interested in shaping up my upper arms and my thighs. I'm about 25 pounds overweight but in general good health. How much weight should I start with and how many reps?

Trying something new
This isn't exactly fasting, but 2 days a week I'm restricting my diet to 500 calories and no alcohol or caffeine. The other 5 days I get 1500 calories (which by comparison seems like a lot!) This has been working for me because I find 1200 per day every day very restrictive and hard to maintain. The 2 days a week at 500…
