Best lunch packing ideas?
I’m about to move from working at home to going into the office. I don’t like using the community refrigerator, so I want to pack things that I can just keep in my lunch bag. I’m thinking baby spinach, boiled egg or chicken breast, and maybe one serving of higher fiber crackers. And maybe an apple. I also thought about…

Foot,, ankle, lower leg stability and strength
I'm back with another question. When I did PT after my ankle bone spur surgery, a lot of the exercises were focused on stability -- balance on one foot for a minute at a time, balance board, total gym using some sort of pillow or padding that made my foot, ankle, and leg work harder to stabilize, calf stretches with foam…

Lost 21 pounds since New Years
I'm only about 40 % of the way to my goal, but I'm trying to enjoy the victory instead of focusing on all the hard work still ahead of me.

Exercises to reduce chronic joint pain
I have chronic pain in an ankle. It is the result of an old injury in which my calcaneus (heel bone) was crushed. I had a subtalor triple fusion surgery. Arthritis developed. I have had bone spur removal. I have been somewhat successful in increasing my iverakk strength and endurance by doing seated exercises. However, I…

Overwhelmed and distressed
I know losing weight is hard for everyone and that everyone has challenges and that I shouldn’t feel sorry for myself or overwhelmed but I do. The pandemic has been hard on all of us. I’ve been in strict lock down since March because my husband has congestive heart failure and only one functioning kidney. I work from home.…

Cut off for “not enough calories”
If MFP doesn’t think you are eating enough calories, you get a message saying so. Is the cutoff 1,000 calories? Thanks.

Myth? Muscle weighs more?
Isn’t a pound a pound whether it’s fat or muscle? I’m working out 5-6 days a week and I feel stronger. I’ve lost 11.8 pounds since the new year. Tomorrow is weigh in day and I think I’m going to end up with no significant loss or gain for this week. I was comforting myself with the old saw that muscle weighs more than fat.…

Calculating calories
I am doing an exercise program 6-7 times a week. The provider of the YouTube exercise video rates the calories burned as 121 to 248. I initially entered the minimum of 121 calories. I am now doing considerably more than the minimum. However, apparently because I lost some, MFP is now entering 118 calories. Any hints on how…

Balancing cooking for others with watching calories
My husband would eat pasta every day if he could. Or potatoes and meat. It’s what he likes, plus he says vegetables are hard on his digestive system. So far, I’ve just been measuring and eating a small portion of what he eats and then eating a lot of vegetables to go with it — like a small serving of baked rigatoni and a…

Do you think it’s helpful or harmful to splurge?

Mini goal self rewards
Since I want to lose 50 pounds, I would reasonably be able to lose 10% of that amount each month. I’d like to think of some non food options for rewarding myself if I make that steady progress. I’m trying to encourage myself to feel satisfied and proud of slow and steady progress. (Instead of wanting fast unrealistic…

First steps (again)
Hello. I’m 62, female, at least 50 pounds overweight, working from home, and cooking almost all meals for myself, my husband and adult daughter. I have a bum foot and ankle. I had ankle surgery (the most recent) in July 2019, my mother died in November 2019, one of my daughters moved to the UK in December 2019, and my…
