Endomondo
Been using Endomondo (www.endomondo.com) to track my exercise then transferring it over to MFP. Now that they are linked it is even better. My runs, bike rides, swims and weights are all automatically transferred over. Thanks MFP. If you haven't tried it, it is great.

First marathon down!
Ran my first marathon today. Took me 5 hours, 20 minutes. First 12 miles went great then started to tire some. Managed to keep moving pretty good to mile 18 when my knee decided to go on strike. Would have to slow to a walk occasionally so it could catch up. Slowed me down more than I wanted. I was hoping to do it in under…

Carb Load Out
Low carbers beware, what you are about to read may send your bodies into epileptic shock. I need to maximize the glycogen in my muscles in preparation for my marathon on Sunday. To do this I am supposed to eat 760 grams of carbs each day for three days. That is the equivalent of 4 cups of sugar or 3040 calories each day…

High Calorie Burn Exercise and getting enough calories?
I am supposed to be on maintenance but having a hard time eating enough to make up for what I am burning in exercise. Usually burn 700 - 1000 calories on weekdays and twice that on weekends. I am now down 10 lbs lower than I really want to be and have had several people comment I look emaciated. My question is, how do I…

My First Tri
Participated in my first triathlon yesterday. Ended up in first in the old fart division. It was only a 200 yard swim, 5 mile bike ride and 2 mile run. But I learned a valuable lesson. When I exercise I can run 6 miles, bike ride 30 miles and swim a mile. Not all in the same day mind you. So when my wife and I signed up…

My before and after pic - 75 lbs down
Finally found a picture from my "I really don't want my picture taken" phase for a comparison. It's been about a year since I started down this path. The picture on the left was at my niece's wedding in January of 2011. I weighed in at 245 lbs. Pretty good gut going there. Weird thing is I never noticed it until I compared…

Another "Concerned" NSV
One of my coworkers stopped by my space yesterday and sat down with a concerned look on his face. He asked how I was doing. I said "Fine". His response was "No, really, how are you doing?" "Fine, Why?" "Are you sure you are okay?" "Yes, really". "You've gotten so skinny I thought there might be something wrong with you."…

Girl Scout Cookies
My wife is a teacher so she gets hit up a lot. she came home last night with a box of Samoas. For those in other areas with different names, that is the one with the coconut and caramel and my absolute favorite. Right now they are in the freezer but the Dark Force is strong.

Christmas Damage
Well Christmas feasting started this week. Been going out to eat with family and with all the festivities its been hard to find time to exercise. Just going to enjoy Christmas, sample all the junk and not worry too much till I get home Monday. I've always been a sugar junkie, but hopefully, I won't do too much damage.

My NSV
My boss's boss asked my boss if I was okay because I had lost so much weight. He told her no, I was eating right and exercising. Does make me wonder where America is heading when people assume if you lost weight you must be sick.

Killer Thanksgiving
I cut way back on what I normally eat on Thanksgiving and the calories were still unreal. Don't even want to think about what I used to eat. Planned to splurge anyway. Put in some extra exercise earlier this week and had our annual hunting trip on Friday that helped burn on off some of the mashed potatoes and pumpkin pie.…

Future NSV
The past couple years my youngest daughter would pat me on the tummy and tease me about being able to play Santa Claus. Ain't gonna happen this year! Just hit my mini goal of 200 lbs. Ain't no tummy to pat no more.

I'm officially an athlete!
All this running, swimming and bike riding I ended blowing out my knee. I can still walk but running causes severe pain. And how does this make me an athlete? Had to go in for my first MRI yesterday just like the PROs. Oh yeah! Doctor thinks I'll be able to run again but don't have the results yet so don't know for sure.

A few NSVs since I've lost weight
I have gone from a size 38 waist to a size 34. I can squeeze into a 33 but it was a little too tight and muffin top for comfort. Had a cold spell here this week so reached into the closet to pull out my jacket and the darn thing was huge. Went to the doctor for my annual physical. Last year I was obese, had elevated blood…

Good Morning
Hello everybody, Been lurking for several weeks, thought I would introduce myself. I'm a long, tall, Texan, (or at least I used to be many years ago). I was always fit when I was younger, used to like to run a lot. Then came marriage, career and kids. Seemed like there was never enough time to do things like run or…
