IT'S BACON!!!!!

That is some very impressive progress.

Welcome to the forum. I started off where you did, 52 years old and 245 lbs. Been a year and a half, I am now 175, dropped to 170 but that was too skinny. I've done several triathlons and my first marathon back in September.
-
Mine was to run a marathon. Accomplished that in September. Now my goals are; 25 minute 5K 50 minute 10K Sub 4 hour marathon Complete a half iron man

"Gone in 60 Seconds", the original not the remake. That was such a beautiful fastback mustang they trashed in there and "Torino" was pretty rough. Under similar conditions I hope I have the courage to do what Clint Eastwood did.

What Shfiftyfive said. If a diet has a name it won't work.
-
You can adjust your calories by telling MFP you want to maintain. So, to answer your question, I eat more, keep up my exercise regimen and keep logging at least for a while.
-
What they said. You have to attain a very low body fat level to get a six pack, down into or very close to the unhealthy range.

We have a place called Savers that carries a lot of used clothing. Similar to Goodwill which is good too.
-
I'm getting there. Give me another year.

Great job, although I could have done without the mankini thing.

Doesn't really matter on your weight loss. Calories are calories. I've stayed pretty much on my standard diet of the foods I loved and lost 75 lbs. Have added more vegetables just to eat a little healthier but still eat lots of red meat, pastas, bread and even GASP desserts occasionally. Any diet that makes me give up…

I loved the comment about your wife not being able to find you when you were right in front of her. Congrats on the weight loss.
-
First is my niece's wedding on January 1, 2011, I weighed in at 245 lbs with a 38 inch waist. The second is after my first triathlon on May 5, 2012, 170 lbs, 32 inch waist.

I'm a room temperature type myself too but that's just how I like to drink it. If you like ice water go for it.

The Mayans are right. The world is coming to an end!

Move more, eat less. I eat what I want, just less of it. For me, any diet that restricts me from eating what I love won't work. Exercise is very individualistic. Find something you love to do. For me, it is running and bike riding.
-
Thanks everyone. Legs are starting to recover and I can move around some now.
-
Way to go. My wife and I both got off all of our meds thanks to weight loss, exercise and MFP.
-
Log it all or your just wasting your time. Lots of people hit a "Plateau" which is really they aren't honestly logging everything or the actual amount of what they are eating.

The night before I'll be eating a light meal for that reason. Never do anything different right before or during a race that you haven't tried before. I've done some carb load out before my long runs in preperation, but not quite to this extreme. And to be honest, I don't think I will be able to eat that much, but I am…
-
Full marathon. For a half marathon I wouldn't worry about carb loading. The average person has enough glycogen to carry them up to about 18 - 20 miles. It's that last 6 that gets real tough.

Don't buy a lot of stuff, especially the bad stuff. Small packages, cook only what you are supposed to eat. No sweets at all in the house. For the special treats we usually went out somewhere, ice cream parlor, dessert bars, something like that. Vegetables are the hard part for me. Mostly raw, that's about the only way I…

That's one of the reasons I exercise so I can eat more. Love being able to splurge a little. Keeps me from binging.
-
WARNING!!! WARNING!!!! Running can be very addictive! I started off just wanting to run a mile, now I am training for a marathon. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!!!!

Sugar is more natural than fake sugar. Just count the calories. I've drank sweet tea and had sugar on my oatmeal through my whole weight loss. Can't stand artificial sweeteners or Stevia.

No music. I've had a couple close calls/surprises while listening to music. So now I run/bike ride music free. Maybe I'll hear that car coming up behind me while I still have a chance to get out of the way.

Copied from WebMD. Full surgery your looking at crutches for 3 - 6 weeks and no heavy lifting or heavy sports for 3 - 6 months. A meniscus tear is a common injury that damages the rubbery cushion of the knee joint. This tissue is made of two disks, which are called the medial meniscus and the lateral meniscus. These…

3 large cups a day which is equal to one pot. More when my family gets together. Love my coffee.
