Same photo, one year later. :)
Yesterday I found a photo that I had my husband take for me last April. It was at the point when I had lost about 27 lbs and was starting to run and lift weights. So I had him take the same pic for me yesterday (I'm now down 67.2 lbs.) I debated about posting this because I still want to work on more muscle definition but…

Half Marathon training question
I am all signed up for my first half-marathon in September. I'm really looking forward to it ! I'm starting my offical training now, although I've been running for over a year. I've done several 5K races and I've been increasing my regular running distances to anywhere from 6 - 10 miles when I run long. I'm trying…

Looking & feeling better at age 33 than at 23! (Pics!)
Today is my 33rd birthday. Boo!! Hiss!! Getting older stinks. Or does it? Here I am 10 years ago - at age 23: And here I am today - 10 years, 2 kids and over 65 lbs later: I guess getting older isn't all that bad. :)

Feeling down while shopping? Try this. (PICS)
Tonight I was shopping and I was feeling gross in everything I tried on. So I decided to do something to remind myself of how far I've come. I pulled an outfit in my current size (size 6 pants, size small shirt) and the same outfit in my old size (size 18 pants, size XL shirt). Photo evidence of what a difference 65 lbs…

Why weight lifting is important on this journey... (pic)
Photo on the left is from April 2012. Photo on the right is from August 2012. Just 4 months difference. I still have work to do. Today I surpassed the 50 lbs lost mark. I walk, run, use the elliptical. But the weight lifting is what's making the biggest changes to my body. I don't lift heavy (yet!) I use free weights,…

Doing other cardio/weights during the 30 Day Shred?
I'm thinking of doing the 30DS starting on September 1. I've tried the level 1 workout a few times before but that was waaaay back in the beginning and I never stuck with it as a routine. Now I think I'd like to try it and do the whole 30 days. My question is if it's OK to continue doing other cardio (running/elliptical)…

NSV at Goodwill today! (with pics)
Less than 10 months ago I started this journey. I was a size 18. Weighed 222 lbs. Today I weighed in at 175 lbs, so I have lost 47 lbs so far. I went to Goodwill today to look for some jeans (I'm not done losing yet and don't want to spend a fortune on new clothes, but I'm going to need something for fall.) A dress caught…

How do you make yourself realize how much you've changed?
I have lost 46 lbs since November 2011. (I'm 5'7", SW 221, CW 176) I KNOW my clothes fit different, I'm in a smaller size, etc. But when I look in the mirror I see the same thing I saw 46 lbs ago. I can look at photos of myself and see a difference sometimes, but day-to-day I don't see it. I'm not done losing - I have…
