Generation X / 40-somethings
I'm new to this site so I'm still trying to learn my way around. Wondering if there is a message board for the 40-something crowd? I'm in my early 40s and trying to lose about 50 pounds.

Body by Vi - does it work long term?
My neighbor just started a program called Body by Vi - shakes, supplements, etc. One of her co-workers claims to have lost 43 pounds in 3 months which mean a loss of 3.5 lbs per week. I was wondering if anyone had any input regarding it. Is it a long term fix? Isn't losing that much weight that quickly unhealthy? What…

Are there other shakes thick like Shakeology?
I am really bad about eating in the morning on work days because of time and I usually don't have an appetite in the morning to eat. Yes, I know eating solid food is much better for me. However, on days where I need to have something quick and nutritious I have tried the Shakeology shakes and found them tasty and extremely…

Cardio everyday, and not losing much weight
My job is having a Biggest Loser competition. We weigh in on Fridays. I have gone to a 60 minute aerobics class every day and on some days done a double class. I am staying in my calorie range and within range of protein, fat, carbs, sodium, etc. However, I only lost 0.8 pounds this week and only 0.2 last week. While I am…

Eat breakfast, hungrier at Lunch?
For some reason whenever I eat a high protein breakfast I am absolutely starving at lunch time; whether I have an egg or a protein shake (pre-made). However, when I don't eat breakfast I tend not to feel as hungry at lunch time. Doesn't make sense, does it? Anyone else have this issue? I'm at 1200 calories a day for a 1…

Confused about BMR
The BMR tool on MFP states that my BMR is 1410. However, when I use the goals tools it states that I burn 1810 calories (not including exercise) and it has me on a 1200 calorie daily caloric intake for a 1.2 pound per week weight loss. (1810-1200=(610*7)/3500). If it is calculating my BMR at 1410 then why is it using 1850…

Trying to be Overweight by Easter
Sounds silly, right? Actually, no. My BMI has me categorized as obese so my goal is to lose enough weight to no longer be in the obese category but instead be in the overweight category. I have 11 pounds to lose in 9 weeks. Reasonable? I know some will say not to concentrate so much on the scale but on the tape measure but…

Trying to stay motivated
I know slow and steady wins the race but this is hard! I hear about this Body By Vi where people are losing amazing amounts of weight including a friend of mine who is drinking the shakes 2x day and eating one meal. It's discouraging to know I'm working hard to only lose 1.5 pounds a week while others are just drinking a…
