Snap Fitness vs Goodlife
I currently have a membership at city of edmonton facilities but I will be cancelling my membership in December. Goodlife and Snap Fitness are both really close to me and have good hours so I'm debating changing to one of them. Anyone have any thoughts on either place? Neither seems able to give me an answer as to the…

Guess whose back... back again
2014 started off great for me with weight loss but then by the beginning of April I wasn't feeling myself. I stopped tracking my food but continued to log on every day. I stopped working out as much and then not at all. It took a couple of month before I finally went to talk to my doctor about what was going on. After…

Meet up of Edmonton MFPer's
Hey all. There have been many posts on here of people suggesting a meet up. Just wondering if anyone is interested in doing a meet up at Terwillegar park. There is a good path that is about 3.5km in length I believe. Nothing too crazy but a good way to meet some new fitness inspired friends. This is also an off leash park…

In the last 6 months I have been slowly trying to run. Step away from the scale
My cousin (former personal trainer) and I were chatting last week. During our conversation about my weight loss I admitted that I am getting a bit OCD about the scale. I'm weighing myself every day multiple times a day and getting myself upset because of it. I try to stay away but It doesn't seem to be working. At most I…

Nike Sport band vs Polar HRM
So I went for a 5km walk today. I just bought a Polar RS300X and it has a chest strap. I'm not sure if I set it up right though so for todays walk I took my Nike Sport band with me as well and used both. My Nike sport band said I burned 648 calories but my Polar said only 275. Which one should I go off of? Thoughts? Advice?

Personal Trainer
Hi Everyone, In the past I've used a few different personal trainers and in most cases they didn't work out. I had a friend help me out for awhile before she moved away last April. Then after interviewing 5 or 6 trainers, I finally found one that I liked (it took several months). I've been working with him since November…

Healthy recipes
Hey everyone. This group is pretty quiet so I thought I would try to get some conversation going. I'm not sure about everyone else but I struggle to find healthy good recipes that don't take hours to make or break the budget. Anyone want to share any of theirs or sites they find their recipes from?

Eating out
Hey all. I am in meetings all day today and running all over the city. I didn't bring a lunch today because I won't have anywhere to put it and well it will freeze in the car. Any suggestions (other than subway) for a low calorie lunch?
