So if I can't jump rope... can I just jump?
Is it about the same in terms of cardio? I know my arms won't get a workout. I don't have a jump rope, and even if I did, I tend to get hopelessly tangled, but it is a good exercise to do at home. I imagine it would look a little silly, but whatever.

Moving to Denver - do I change styles?
Hello all. I'm moving to Denver soon from Florida. I currently train in Choy Lay Fut kung fu. I love the style, and I love my instructor, and I feel like this is my core martial art that I want to study all my life. However, there are no Choy Lay Fut schools in Denver. I can take up another style of kung fu or transition…

Coming Home
Well, I COS in two weeks, and frankly... I'm terrified. I don't know if I can handle the States, getting a real job, finding a place to live, and trying to explain to everyone what "Africa" is like. Any tips from the RPCVs? How do you get back into American life?

My NSV - Kilimanjaro
Hi everyone! I've been on MFP since March, and have had many small victories, including losing 12 pounds total (maybe more next time I see a scale) but this is the first time I've posted an NSV. I'm an American, living in Tanzania, which is a wonderful country. We have Serengeti, Zanzibar, and, of course, Kilimanjaro.…

Skinning a Python
This may seem strange, but I just spent 4.5 hours skinning an 8 foot python. It was really hard and I'm sure I burned some amount of calories. But what should I log it as? As a side note, anyone know a good way to preserve snake skin?

Help with food - I can't eat healthy!
I live in Tanzania. I don't have electricity, and my food options are very limited. Basically, I eat a lot of beans and rice. The only flour available is white flour. If I go to the market, there are lots of potatoes, onions, and tomatoes. Occasionally there is a green vegetable (like leaves) or some pathetic little fruit.…

Training Alone
I practice kung fu, and have for about 4 years now. Right now I'm not near any school (of any kind), so I train alone. I've been doing a lot of strength training and basics (punches, kicks, forms, etc). Not having a partner is a bit of a setback sometimes. Anyone have any suggestions for how I can change up my routine?…

Looking for a motivation buddy
Hi all, I'm in need of someone that I can message back and forth with while I'm trying to lose weight. I need to lose about 40 more pounds. I exercise a lot, and have done so my whole life, but my eating habits are deplorable. I'd love to have someone I can talk this over with and maybe we can encourage each other. I'm far…

Help - Very Limited Food Options!
Hi all, I need some info/advice on my food situation. Where I'm living right now, my food choices are incredibly limited. Generally I eat rice and beans several times a week. Otherwise, I can eat dried fruit, chapati (kind of like a tortilla only greasier), and occasionally some meat. I don't get many chances to buy fresh…
