Skinning a Python

This may seem strange, but I just spent 4.5 hours skinning an 8 foot python. It was really hard and I'm sure I burned some amount of calories. But what should I log it as?

As a side note, anyone know a good way to preserve snake skin?

Ummm, gross. I don't want to know any details more than that. Ew.

I would think it would be more strength than cardio, so you will have to think of the movement you did and then try to find a matching exercise.

    Poor python.

My father just pinned one out on a long board and let it dry in the sun. I don't know if that's the right way, but it worked for him.

I was totally going to title it "skinning the python," but I figured I didn't need to be too obvious....

    Three things:

    1) How hard is "real hard"? I'd say 4.5 hours of doing anything on your feet, moving around has to be about as good as 2-hours of a brisk walk. Try that.

    2) You skinned an 8-foot Python?? That is BAD@SS!!!!1!!

    3) Cut/paste

Yes, it wasn't the most fun thing in the world.

For the record, I didn't kill it. I didn't want it killed, but it wasn't up to me, so I decided not to waste the carcass.

It kind of felt like upper body strength training, maybe some core. Hmm.

    1) My muscles hurt. That thing was dern heavy. Not like cardio or anything, but.... ow.

    2) I was considering eating it as well. I was too tired after skinning it.

    3) Thanks for the link. One belt and a pair of boots coming up!

    I refuse to believe it.
I was going to say a picture or it didnt happen.. but I am not sure i want to see that?
Why were you skinning a python??

Ps I am sure it burns quite a few calories... even though i personally have not skinned a reptile.....or any creature for that matter...

Thanks. I've heard differently about whether to dry in the sun or in the shade. Regardless, I don't have a board that long...

I didn't take any "in progress" pictures, so now it's just a snake skin.

My students killed it since they are terrified of snakes. They weren't going to eat it or skin it, just toss the carcass. I thought that was kind of wasteful, so I took it. I didn't realize it would be so much work!

    Why thank you.

Seeing as how my sewing skills suck, how would you like an 8 foot scarf?
