Doctor ORDERED me not to lose any more weight
Went to Dr. today for first time in 3 years for checkup. He was astounded by my loss - (I'm 6'1', 38 yo, I went from 245 on his chart in June of 2011.... weighed in at 192 yesterday at his office). Here's the thing... I actually am trying to lose the 10 pounds or so which have creeped up on me over the past year or so. I"m…

Minor setback and a revelation
Anyway, I've been off the forum here for while. I still log every day, but after losing by 60 (240 to 180 as of last June), I got a "bit" lazy.... sneaking in bigger portions, heavier beers, candies at work... lots of those "quick add calories" days!.... many of you know the deal. My new wardrobe I procured sill fits fine,…

Eating lunch at 8:30 AM
One issue I've been dealing with over several months of maintenance.... the ravenous morning hunger I get 2 hours after breakfast. I eat a good breakfast every morning at 6:30 AM, cereal or oatmeal almost always. Then suddenly, once I'm in the office 2 hours later, I end up eating my lunch I brought in that day ... and…

my experience with maintaining 6 months in
It's a challenge, certainly.... I think the worst part was the minor "bounce back" gain, which is apparently typical... I was down to 178, about 65 pounds over 8 months lost, which frankly was a bit too skinny, and went to maintenance.. I think the key is just overcoming the psychological fear of gaining. I gained about 5…

GUILT! It doesn't end even after you hit the goal...
So I've been on maintenance now for about 2 months, holding tight with no issue (actually, I'm about 2-3 pounds below where I want, but it's tough to embrace the idea of "gaining" at this point, as many of you can relate)..... I decided for lunch, just because it's been months since I even had anything in the STRATOSPHERE…

Vacation cheat week
So this is a very odd time. We are at vacation at Disney and for the first time in my 7 months doing this, I'm over for the week, and it will probably be by about 2000 kcals. While I keep telling myself this is the one week I worked all year for (that is I'm eating and drinking what I want to), there still remains a sense…

Went to "maintain weight" today.....
Which is quite an odd feeling adding 500 kcals to the daily goal after 6 months of routine..... The challenge of course will be fighting the instinct that anything close to the new goal will equal packing on weight. That being said, God Bless MFP.

People thinking you're sick after weight loss?
I'm getting a bunch of this since I dropped the weight. In my field as an attorney, clients compare my website pics to whom they see now and ask the question to me personally... in fact, RUMORS about my health are circulating around town I'm learning. Very odd indeed.

The transition into maintenance....
I'm basically done my weight loss at this point, next step is toning and maintenance. I'm interested in the mfp community's advice now at this step. Even though I continue at -1 lb a week settings, and consistently keep a weekly deficit under the goal calorie count, I am trying to get my mind around how to stay on target…

Donated all of my pants to Goodwill today....
It was a strange feeling. I literally cleaned my closet yesterday of all my size 38 (and formerly "tight" size 36) pants, 20 pairs, many of which I bought as recently as 6 months ago. In addition, many of my dress shirts went with them, including my "muu muu" size 18 1/2 collars.(we're down to 33 or 34 waist now and 16…

Ugh, holidays are the worst....
I don't know about any of you, but my worst couple of days these past few months on mfp have been the holidays, besides going well over my limit (500-1000 kcal's) on such days, there's something about the overindulgence of beer that makes me feel bloated, like I've gained 10 pounds the next morning. Back on track today,…

Polar FT7... is MFP too liberal with exercise calorie burn?
Recently purchased my wife a Polar FT7. We do Les Mills class (Bodypump and Bodycombat) and intense spinning 5 times a week. I had a feeling that the burn estimates on MFP for these activities were inaccurate (overestimating). The hrm seemed to confirm that, by about 25% per our monitor. Has anyone else noticed this?

first bad day in 2 months.....
I'm in an odd mood as a 50 day streak of net calorie deficits (often with 1000 kcals or more to spare), I decided to hang with my brother in law at a bar for a couple hours while our wives shopped.... and yes I drank my share of Coors Light....69 ounces in fact..... Please no judging, I didn't even drive and had…
