...first run on 20(?) years...
Greetings, Thanks to my MFP friends, I took my first run on 20(?) years. http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/746161-returning-to-running I ran 0.8 miles in 0:08:11. So OK, I'm not breaking any speed or endurance records. But dammit, I have lost 27 pounds since July 2012 and I went RUNNING! I am still walking daily…

Returning to running...
Greetings, I am returning to running after 20(?) years. In the meantime, I gained weight (245 .lbs) and got old (45)! I have lost 25 .lbs (yay me!) and my doctor cleared me to start running. My goal is to run a race in Providence, RI on 12 May. There are 5K, 10K half-marathon and marathon lengths. I am not deciding yet…

TWO NSVs today!
Greetings, I went to my doctor for the first time since my 25 .lb loss (started July 2012). He cut my blood pressure medication (which I am convinced I need cuz of my weight) by 2/3 AND he cleared me to start running! ONE-derland AND the Providence road races here I come! Thanks for the support and motivation. Richard

Is repetition OK? Is repetition OK?
Greetings, I have just completed day 65 (or something!) and I'm satisfied with my results. Thanks to calorie counting, nutritional awareness, diligence, consistency and exercise, I have lost 25 POUNDS (YAY me!) That said, I go to work five days per week, and I eat the same thing every day for breakfast and lunch. I like my…

"in-between" clothes?
Greetings, Since starting MFP seven weeks ago, I have lost 20.lbs (YAY me!). Now, I am noticing my clothes are looser (YAY me again!). However, I still have more to lose. How do I deal with the clothes that are now too big? I don't want to invest in "me-at-220-clothes" just to have to replace them when I reach my goal?…

cycling success...
Greetings, I have ridden a bicycle for years. When I turned 40 (five years ago), my ability to shed winter-weight in a few weeks of riding went away. Still, I rode hundreds of miles per year AND rode a fundraiser-300 miles from Boston to New York-over three days. Since starting MFP in July, I have lost 19 pounds (yay me!).…

My BNI has gone from 33.4 to 31.3.The most I lost in a week was at the beginning (maybe 4 pounds). I have leveled off (I lost 2.5 pounds this week). I have…

...half marathon?
Greetings, I have an opportunity to run a half-marathon in February (Myrtle Beach). I am just finishing my first at MFP, have lost 13 pounds (30-pound goal), and am generally pretty active. at age 45.I used to run, but not for MANY years! Is this an unrealistic goal? Should I just aim at the 10K? Thanks, Richard

losing too fast??
Greetings, I started MFP last Saturday at 239 .lbs. After less than a week of calorie counting and my usual exercise (cycling/walking), I am weighing in at 234 .lbs. In the short time I've used MFP, I realize (like so many others have!) that I have been really OVERestimating my caloric intake. Is my quick drop normal for…
