Lost and found!
Joined MyFitnessPal summer of 2012; lost 45 pounds in over a year and was maintaining! But now I have regained the lost weight. However, despite doing what worked in 2012, I am pinned at my current weight (240). I am currently using my Breville to make juice for breakfast and lunch. I (try to!) eat a sensible dinner. My…

FitBit life expectancy?
Greetings, What is the life expectancy of a FitBit? I have worn mine daily since I got it in July and the case part of the device has come unglued. I have already contacted FitBit. If they don't replace it, I guess I will have to buy a new one. If they only last three-four months, that'll be $400/year. Richard

lost 45...gained 20! Ughh!
Greetings, Today is my 480th day in a row on myfitnesspal. Yay! At one point I had lost 45 pounds, but I've gained about 20 back. I DON'T want to be one of those lost weight/gained it back stories. I KNOW my diet has slipped recently. I seem to have come undone following a five-day juice fast. Go figure. Also, I have been…

New to juicing...
Just got our Breville in the mail yesterday; bought a bunch of fruits/veggies and am gonna juice 'em tonight. First timer!

First mini-fast
Greetings, I fired up my new juicer and had a kale, celery, cucumber, carrot, green apple, ginger, and lemon juice for last night's dinner. I had another for breakfast. No coffee (I am a cup a day man.). I had a granola bar mid-morning and a sandwich/V8/rice chips/orange for lunch. I had a slight headache all day. Around…

Greetings, Anyone else using Map My Walk and getting a pop-up ad (Bose) that hangs up the app.?? I am using a Samsung Galaxy S2/Android. Annoying! Thanks, Richard

spring stall(?)
Greetings, I have logged in to MFP for 300+ days (yay!) and lost more than 30 pounds (yay again!). However, as spring has sprung, I find myself inching up as I do my weekly weigh in. I am suspecting a stall and perhaps a comfort level that comes from routine. Also, I tend to eat more on the weekends, sometimes too much,…

Galaxy 10.0 Tab question
Greetings, I posted this in the FitBit forum but got no reply; I'll try here: I have a Galaxy Tab 10.0. Is there a way to get the FitBit to sync. wirelessly (ie without the base)? If not, can I plug the base into the Galaxy using a USB adapter…

MFP recording on a cruise ship...
Greetings, We are cruising from NY to Florida and the Bahamas in April (YAY!). I have logged on to MyFitnessPal for 245 days straight since last July (YAY again!). When we are cruising, I will log in my food and use my FitBit. My question: will being offshore break my "record" of logging in days or will MFP adjust once I…

the dreaded stall...
Greetings, I have stalled. I have been dancing around between 198-202 pounds since the holidays. I walk 5+ days per week, but I may have gotten "too good" at it. I need to shake up my routine. I can't wait for the weather to warm so I can do more/different outside activities. I am 46 years old and 5'11". More than just a…

dimensional change
Greetings, Since starting MFP in July 2102, I have lost 40 pounds (yay me!). Once I has lost 30-33 pounds, I had some clothes tailored so I would have clothes to wear! Well, I've lost 8-12 more pounds and it feels like the clothes I had tailored are too big. Is this normal? What is the explanation? I walk a lot. Perhaps…

A banner day!
Today is an especially GOOD day. Back in March, I overheard a friend's comment about me,."...and you gain 40 pounds" he said, referring to my weight. He was right, over time, I HAD put on a lot of weight, he knew it, and I knew it. But at 45, I was unsure what to DO about it. Fast forward to July 2012, July 14 to be…

NSV...the missing link!
Greetings, Since changing my eating lifestyle and losing some weight, , I had to remove a link from my watchband. At first the watch was a wee bit snug, but since losing 40+ pounds (yay!), I can see daylight between the now-smaller band and my wrist! Keep up the good work everyone! Honest. Consistent. Healthy. Richard

exercise pays...really!
I am proof that exercise pays! Not only have I lost 40 pounds (yay!), but I was on my 5-mile walking route today and I found a dollar bill. I found 2 dollar bills a few weeks ago...and two more dollars a few weeks before that! Who'd a thunk??

FitBit not syncing AGAIN??
My FitBit has not synced since this afternoon (Monday). It IS still counting steps. Anyone else experiencing this?
-
lesser of two evils??
Greetings, Greetings, I have a hankerin' for less-than-healthy food. Should I go for: General Tso's chicken, steamed dumplings, white rice or Thin-crust pepperoni and onion pizza with a Gorgonzola salad? Either way, I'll keep portions reasonable. Thanks, Richard

Next stop...ONE-derland!
I am on the track and ready to pull in to the station. I SHOULD arrive tomorrow; keep your fingers crossed! Thanks, Richard

Friday DOUBLE NSVs!
What a day! After NOT arriving in ONE-derland like I expected at today's weigh-in (200.5,,,ugh!), I was reminded...TWICE... that numbers on a scale are just that: numbers! I teach high school. Today two students approached me with trepidation and asked if I had lost weight. When I said I had, they were relieved and said…

lost TOO much weight??
Greetings, Thanks to MFP, FitBit, and my friends here, I have lost 34 pounds (yay!), lowered my BMI, lowered my blood pressure, and reached my first weight goal (210) pounds. I am currently at 205 pounds and have my sights set on 180 as my final weight.. My wife is suggesting that 180 is too low for me; that I would be too…

NSV...Dunlop's Disease cured!
Greetings, I realized I achieved a new NSV...I am cured of Dunlop's Disease! (Dunlop's Disease, for those who don't know, is a condition where yer belly has dun-lopped over yer belt!) Related: I notice that when I bend over to tie my shoes, my stomach doesn't constrict my breathing like it used to. Thirty pounds…

Ahhhh...Fit Bit broke?!?
Greetings, I am re-posting this here since it DOES relate to my weight loss....and it got no love in the Fit Bit Forum! My Fit Bit "case" came unglued along one side. Fit Bit is still working. Has this happened to anyone else? Remedy? Krazy Glue? Thank you, Richard

GOAL....#1
Greetings, GOAL...GOAL...GOAL...! After 90 days on MFP, I hit goal #1 today: 210 pounds. I like it so much, I set a NEW goal: 180 pounds. I NEVER would have predicted ANY of this six months ago! Thanks MFP, FitBit, and my MFP friends! AND...a colleague noticed my weight loss, said she could see it in my face, and that I…

WHOA....I passed a it! (NSV)
Greetings, Before I started MFP in July 2012, I stuffed my carcass into waist size 38 pants. I even bought a few pairs of summer shorts in the 40-inch range. Well, as of today, I've lost 30 pounds (yay me!). Now, when I put on the size 38 pants that I have had hanging around, they're too big! I missed my opportunity to…

ALMOST at goal #1 (pictures)
Greetings, I am almost at my first goal (I am 0.5 pounds away) so I thought I'd put a few pictures up, one "BEFORE" and another I'm calling "DURING." I still have more to go, but I'm off to a good start! Since July 2012, I have shed 29 pounds, dropped two waist sizes, gotten a bunch of clothes tailored, lowered my blood…

0.5 pounds from my first goal!
Greetings, So....lost two pounds this week (after zero loss last week!). That puts me 0.5 pounds from my first goal! I have been obese for years. Now I am (BMI-wise) overweight on my way to healthy and ONE-derland. If anyone told me I'd lose 29 pounds in 12 weeks, I'd NEVER believe them. Thanks friends and thanks MFP!…

walk then run OR run then walk?
Greetings, I have just started running again (after 20 years). I run a VERY modest pace for short distances. I also walk with my wife. Today I plan to do both: run alone and walk with my wife. Question: which should I do first? Should I walk for three miles THEN run a mile-plus or run then walk? Thank you, Richard

Stall?
Well, it HAD to happen eventually; the first Friday weigh-in that I DIDN'T lose weight (didn't gain either). However, I AM finding that clothes I haven't worn in YEARS now fit (victory!). More clothes went to the tailor today. I feel better, I eat better, I walk a lot and I run a little. It's all good!

...to tailor or not to tailor?
Greetings, First off, if someone had told my in July ("27 pounds ago") that I'd be asking this, I wouldn't believe them. I am approaching goal #1 (210 pounds). Since I am actually enjoying this experience, I have already decided to set a NEW goal (185-90) and maintain that weight forever. Now, I wear suits, jackets,…
