walk then run OR run then walk?

Greetings,
I have just started running again (after 20 years). I run a VERY modest pace for short distances. I also walk with my wife. Today I plan to do both: run alone and walk with my wife.
Question: which should I do first? Should I walk for three miles THEN run a mile-plus or run then walk?
Thank you,
Richard

I suppose the walk would warm you up for the run and you wont be all sweaty taking the Mrs out! Then again, maybe she likes that0
