losing too fast??

Greetings,

I have asked before but I just want to double-check. Today is day 35 for me and MFP. I have lost exactly 15 pounds. I started at 239.5 and today I an 224.5. My BNI has gone from 33.4 to 31.3.The most I lost in a week was at the beginning (maybe 4 pounds). I have leveled off (I lost 2.5 pounds this week).

I have consciously increased my activity level. I am using a Fitbit and have a part-time summer job that gets me walking 15-20,000 steps two days per week. My wife and I walk 3+ miles 3-5 days per week.

Given my circumstances, is mine a healthy, sustainable loss or am I losing too fast?

Thank you.

    Hi,
Three pounds a week is a high rate of loss if you are close to you goal. If you have a lot to loose it is sustainable for a while but you will begin to slow down and eventually stop if you are not eating enough to sustain you body. Take a look at the link below and calculate what your intake should be for sustained loss. Your activity level is at least moderate if you continue with your walking program. Check and see how your current intake compares to a 20% decrease from you TDEE.

Congrats on you loss so far! Time to be adding in strength training!
