I definitely fell off the wagon...
... To the point where I'm considering getting a membership to Planet Fitness. My apartment complex has a small free gym, but it consists of some dumbbells, a couple cardio machines with no discernible purpose, and two of those "total gym" things that constantly look like they're about to fall apart. I've started and…

Breathing problems during crunches
Before this goes down the obvious path, I know crunches aren't an efficient form of ab exercise. I've been issued a challenge, so they're happening. Anyway, I have been having serious problems with breathing while actually doing them. Either I get this weird hiccup-y feeling where my diaphragm doesn't seem to want to work,…

Sudden Onset Tendonitis
I know it's been asked to death, but is this real? I was out for my bi-weekly run earlier today. The first twenty minutes were just fine. I felt like I could run forever, or at least until the apparently mandatory pit stop. Winding up immediately afterwards I started getting a gradual-ish building of pressure in my left…

Smith Machine
My (entirely free) in-complex gym has one treadmill, one elliptical, one InFlight Fitness monstrosity, a small handful of free weights, and the dreaded Smith Machine. I do have the option of other free gym space (spousal benefits, yea), but those are a good half hour drive and it would take me about six months just to…

Note to self...
Do not put chocolate protein powder in a green and red smoothie. Didn't dissolve at all and the flavor was just wrong. Does anybody else have any interesting recipes that either faltered or just flat didn't work?

1068 Calories Remaining
Short story: courtesy of sleeping late on my day off, an 800 calorie burn for cardio day, and eating rather minimally, I have what amounts to a day's worth left to eat and no time to eat it. Anybody have ideas for really quick meals that don't involve alcohol that will boost me above a net of 300 for the day?

Annoying/ Embarassing Weight Loss Stories
So I was walking through the airport the other morning and I noticed this odd sensation that I hadn't felt since childhood. Nothing I could do about it until I got through security, so for the first time ever I went through the full-body scanner (which now shows nothing but an avatar) and bypassed the usual pat-down (which…

To the outdoor runners/ joggers
Where on Earth do you put your keys? I have been trying to figure this out for ages and I just can't. I normally put them in my pocket when I walk but if I want to jog I have to hold on to them or risk having them fall out. Do you shove them in your shoe or leave them in your mailbox or what? I'm at a complete loss.

How do you reward yourself?
I'm just starting out the serious weight loss lifestyle and I've set up a lot of incremental goals for myself: my weight at high school graduation, my weight on the first day of college, my weight from my "athletic" days. I was wondering if other people did this and whether/ how they rewarded themselves when they hit those…
