2 years/186lbs.
Today is the 2 year anniversary of my weight loss adventure. Grand total weight loss: 185.6 lbs. From a size 36 to a 14/16. Blood pressure from 160/100ish to 100/60 (no meds). A1C from 10+ to 6.2 and insulin intake from 900+ units a day to 60. My goal weight is under 25lbs away. I really am a new person. I have a different…

Eating back calories...ugh.
I am 21 months post-RNY. I just started a moderately active job and I am finding that with all the calories I am burning from work, I am physically unable to eat them all back. My pouch doesn't tolerate solid proteins well at all. As far as the doctor is considered its not an issue, just a quirk with my pouch. Everyone's…

Help With Diet/Fitness Profile
I have recently gone from being a SAHM (sedentary lifestyle) to a job with the local SPCA where I am on my feet and physically active 4-6 hours a day/5 days a week. I have a FitBit and I am averaging about 8500ish steps during my 4 hour shifts. I am trying to figure out how to adjust my calories and what to change my…

So close to Onederland!
Last month between July 5 and July 7, I gained 16lbs. I went from 209 to 225 in 2 days. Doctor isn't sure what caused it, as even water gain is usually no more than 5-8lbs. Onederland has been a goal of mine for so long, since I haven't seen the scale start with a 1 since before I was in high school almost 25 years ago.…

More self-conscious eating in public post-surgery?
I am finding that it is harder for me to eat in public post my RNY than it was before. I guess because I was fat, it didn't bother me what people thought of how much I ate, etc. Post surgery I am finding it harder and more uncomfortable for me to eat in public. Usually I have to explain to the wait staff that I want to…

5 Day Pouch Test
I've been stalled out for almost 4 weeks now, so I am starting a 5 day pouch test. I've done this before, back in Jan/Feb and it gave me a kick start. I have found my eating habits over the past few weeks have gotten a bit slack. I've definitely been testing my pouch and had a couple of accidental binges. I'll keep you…

Nothing but good news!!!
I went to the doctor for my quarterly physical and I have been doing my happy dance all day  In 18 months, my BMI has gone from 62.4 to 35. I've lost almost 160lbs. My A1C has gone from 10.2 to 5.8. My blood pressure is normal (with no meds) and as of today, my insulin intake is down to 90 units a day from over…

My biggest NSV yet!
This year's bathing suit laying over last year's. I am pretty freaking excited

Ladies...I need shoe advice.
Other than my walking/running shoes, all my shoes are flip-flops and sandals. I live in them year round and have as long as I can remember. I have never had a burning desire to wear heels, mostly because I always felt I walked like a duck in them, especially when I weighed nearly 400lbs. I have a family wedding to attend…

152 lbs gone!!!
And healthier than I have been in my adult life. Still got a ways to go, but I am getting it done

My best NSV yet :)
Today is my 5th anniversary and I decided to try on my wedding dress (which has been in the bag in the closet for 5 years) and it almost fell off it was so big. Made today even better

Starting the year 123 lbs lighter!!!
I lost 123 lbs total in 2012 (my goal was 125), so I am pretty stoked! My goal in 2013 is another 80-100lbs. I would love some motivational friends who have a similar goal. I have been working so hard and I am so excited its been all worth it

1/2 the person I used to be
Its been one year since I started and I am down 115lbs of the 230 I have to lose. I can't believe the difference. My NSVs have far outweighed the scale: I am healthy and happy! Before: Now: The biggest difference this year:

My story and the next step...
In Feb of 2011, my endocrinologist told me if I didn't change something I would be dead by 40. I was 34 with a 2.5 year old son and I was terrified. I weighed almost 400lbs, my A1C was bouncing between 10 and 13, despite being on 900 units of insulin day, my blood pressure was through the roof even being on 2 BP meds. It…

Food Cravings?!?
I have had no appetite for almost 3 weeks now. I spoke to my surgeon's office and they said its not uncommon and to make sure I was keeping myself well hydrated and eating whatever I was comfortable with. I haven't been able to eat anything truly solid since before my surgery. For the most part its been protein shakes,…
