Introductions
I started this group after searching for a BJJ group on here and not finding one. If one already exists we should fold this and I'll gladly join the working group. That being said: My name is Nick Feden, I train BJJ at Maxercise in Philadelphia under John Desimone, a Saulo Ribeiro Black Belt. I've been training on and off…

Just Joined 12th Street Gym: Any other MFP Members go there?
Should say, rejoined 12th Street Gym. Even though I'm happy to start working out again, it's really important to me that my weight loss not come from exercise, but from eating reasonably. My problem in the past is that I've always been really active. I was a college tennis player, practiced judo and bjj, and love yoga. But…

New Here. Any other tennis or BJJ People on the site?
I'm new to this site, so I wanted to say hello. I'm currently around 206, but I'd like to get down to 170 or 165. Wondering if there are any other Brazilian Jiu Jitsu (BJJ) practitioners on the site. I train, but I found that just exercise doesn't cut the weight for me like it did when I was 25. I finally have to take…

Interval Training Workouts
Anyone got any good interval training routines they want to share? Specifically those that can be done in your average gym (no pool or track). I'd appreciate it.

Post Workout Meals/Snacks
I'm looking for any suggestions for people who do intense evening workouts. I find it difficult to schedule my eating around these workouts. I don't want to eat a big meal late night, but a few hours after these workouts I'm pretty hungry, and I don't want to starve myself either. Thanks in advance.

Shakes- Advice
I'm interested in adding a good protein shake to my diet for the days that I have hard workouts. I need to lose a good amount of weight by April 16, but I need to do it in such a way that I am able to continue to build muscle and maintain as much strength as possible. Any recommendations?

BMR and Daily Calories
I just used the BMR calculator and it put my daily calories somewhere around 1800/day. But, MFP only allows me somewhere around 1350/day. I always eat back my calories burned after exercise, but am I eating enough? I'm losing weight and I'm not feeling to hungry. Just want to make sure I'm not doing any damage.

More calories before or after workout?
If I have a big calorie burning activity planned for later in the day, am I better off taking in more calories prior to the activity or reloading after the activity? Or does it make no difference? Sometimes I train in the afternoon or evening and on those days I have to eat a lot more calories and I'm worried about taking…

Just got the Microsoft Kinect
Gotta say, it's better than the Wii for a workout. My wife and I enjoy dancing games and the Kinect sees your whole body, so you really have to move your feet and legs. Whereas with the Wii, sometimes I would get lazy and just move the controller. We've played at least 20 minutes a day since we got it. I highly recommend…
