How big a role does sleep play in weight loss?
I know calories in, calories out. But I have seen a lot of people talk about sleep being important for weight loss, and even say that when they sleep in on the weekends, they weigh less in the morning. Does sleep really affect weight loss? The reason I'm asking is because I have 6 month old twins, so sleep has basically…

Weekly weight loss goal
I have been searching but I can't seem to find the chart/list that gets posted often with the recommended weight loss goal per week. (If you have 25 pounds to lose, aim for X per week, if you have 15-25, aim for X per week, etc.) I am trying to tweak my goal/calories to find something that might work better, and I just…

Fitbit app display setting?
I have noticed that my Fitbit app does not show my goals for each category, and some other people post screenshots and they do show the goals. For example, here is my dashboard: And here is someone else's, which shows the goal for each category on the right: Is this a setting that I can change? I can't seem to find it…

April Challenge - lose 5-10 pounds
For everyone who commented in the other thread, I don't know if you saw the post near the end that there was a group created. I just stumbled across it when I was browsing the new groups: http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/group/104872-april-challenge-lose-5-10-pounds

DirecTV on demand
Does anyone have DirecTV and know how the selection of exercise/fitness videos on demand is, or if they even have them? When we had Comcast, there was a pretty good selection, but we just switched and I haven't looked around too much on DirecTV. I'm at work now, so I can't look for myself.

Weighing meat - raw vs. cooked
I know that the nutritional information provided for meat is typically based on the weight of the meat raw, but what do you do when you can't weigh the exact portion you are going to eat before cooking? For example, today I made a roast in the slow cooker. Obviously I will not be eating the whole roast. Is there some…

Fitbit Charge syncing
I just got a Fitbit Charge and I have it synced with MFP. The sync seems to be working because my MFP app will show the number of Fitbit steps, but it doesn't give me any exercise calories. Also, yesterday I tracked 45 minutes of aerobics, which the Fitbit registered as 44 active minutes, and MFP didn't give me calories…

How do you get your protein in?
I have recently been trying to pay more attention to my protein intake, since it was suggested that I try to eat 1 gram per pound of lean body mass. I am finding it really difficult to get even close to the 100 or so grams I would need. Before, a typical day for me would be cereal for breakfast, 2 oz of turkey breast on a…

New Charge user - I don't understand these calculations
I can't figure out how the Fitbit app calculates my calories. I have my goal set to have a 500 calorie deficit. Right now, the app says I have burned 1,143 calories, I have eaten 646 (synced with MFP), and I have 1,070 left. If I eat 1,070 more, I would be at over 1,700 for the day and have only burned 1,143. I know that I…

How long to decrease body fat percentage?
I just had my body fat percentage checked for the first time, and it is higher than the recommended range for a woman. I am starting a wellness program at work where we will weigh in each week, and I am just wondering how long I should wait to check my body fat percentage again and how much I could reasonably expect to…
