Do you ever have this fear?
Let me be clear that this fear isn't something that would ever stop me from continuing my weight loss journey, but is something that is on my mind. For those of you that have a significant amount to lose (this isn't for the "vanity weight" people, we are talking 50, 100 lb overweight) and that have been heavy for most of…

Annoyance: Deceptive Serving Sizes
So this is something I noticed a while ago, but today at the store I noticed it again and it really ticks me off. The deceptive serving sizes on some foods is awful. Good example is poptarts, the serving size is ONE poptart...not one packet of poptarts which comes with 2 tarts in it...ONE poptart. Nobody I know opens a…

Trendweight graph
How accurate has it been for people? How long does it take of logging weight daily for it to show the trend accurately?

Suggestions for a food scale?
Looking into getting a food scale (was borrowing one for a while but it broke and was old as all heck LOL). I have a super small apartment kitchen so it needs to be tiny, a portable type one would be even better so I can measure when over friends houses but not necessary (will probably save me weird looks and them thinking…

How do you know if you have plateaued?
So I have stopped losing weight. In fact I have gained weight, as much as 6 lbs in the middle of last week and down to 2 lbs over my most recent lowest weight now (which was 9 days ago). I am so frustrated and have no idea what is going on. I gave it a week, thinking maybe I just retained water but it has been OVER a week…

Ideas to curb middle of night snacking/healthy snacks?
So I have an issue with when my bladder wakes me up to go pee in the middle of the night I am ALWAYS hungry, something about waking up triggers me to feel hungry seemingly no matter what I ate the day before (though if I eat a ton of refined carbs I will notice the hunger is actually borderline painful and not just…

Grape jelly or strawberry jam?
I have been eating a lot of PB&J lately and so decided to ask the MFP community the age old question. Which do you prefer on your PB&J, Grape jelly or Strawberry Jam?

Surprising "diet" foods?
Ok, so I have been at this logging thing on and off for 2 years and have stuck with it lately. I have noticed once or twice when I go to log a food I expect is going to really be bad for me, lots of calories, it isn't. Most recent discovery was that a soft taco on a small tortilla with homemade spice packet, lean ground…

How much can you gain in a day?
I know weight fluctuates during the day, but I was wondering how much is "average"? Mine can sometimes change by 2 lbs from morning to night, is this all water weight? It seems excessive.

Does anyone feel like their body has a "set" weight?
I am asking because my body always seems to go back to the same place if I am not counting calories. If I just let go, relax and don't go crazy but also don't diet, I always ALWAYS go back to around the same weight (within 5 lbs). Even if I diet and lose weight, as soon as I let up I will slowly gain until my body gets…

Does cheating help or hinder?
I posted another topic about plateauing and how I don't want that to happen...and how tricking your body is a good way to stop it. So on that subject, does anyone else have great success with cheating? So far I have had unbelievable success with it. I diet for a couple weeks, then cheat for a day or two...and each time it…

Exercises to help with skin elasticity?
I have lost 17 lbs so far, which is nearly 40 lbs down from my heaviest and I am starting to deal with sagginess around my stomach (which was always my biggest area). Whereas my belly used to stick out, now it sticks out but also hangs and its gross. I want advice on things I could do to firm up my abdomen area and help my…

Do people always plateau?
I have lost a lot of weight rather easily already by just sticking to the calorie intake, and I am really pleased with myself...however I am concerned it has been TOO easy. I hear so often people saying the first 20 lbs come off so easy, but then the loss slows and the weight won't budge. I am terrified of that happening…

Protein shakes with REAL sugar?
I am looking for a great tasting protein shake that doesn't have fake sugar, or even "natural" fake sugar like stevia, I can taste all fake sugars and they taste awful to me, bitter and stick n my mouth for ages. I know real sugar will make the drink higher cal but I will be using it as a meal replacement so I am not too…
