Finished Live Fit---what next?
I just finished Jamie Eason's 12 week training series, focusing on strength training and then fat burn (via cardio) for the last several weeks. I liked the workouts but didn't get the results I wanted. It's been an ongoing battle for me, though so I don't blame Jamie! I definitely gained muscle but the scale literally…

Weight machines vs. Free weights?
I always hear to stay away from weight machines at the gym and to only use the free weights. Can someone talk me through this? Do machines pose no benefits at all? Why are free weights better? For those of you who use free weights to lift heavier, do you always have a second person there to spot you? I have this vision of…

Upped my calories--how long to wait it out?
After a 9-month plateau and hearing 10 million people tell me that the solution is to eat MORE (my usual daily average was 1300, plus an additional 400-500 calories burned via exercise, 5 x/week) I finally gave in! Reducing sugar intake?
I'm having a lot of trouble staying under my sugar goals each day. In fact, I often go way over. I know the logical answer is: don't eat sugar. Over the past year, I've been having what my doctor thinks are IBS symptoms. Since then, I haven't been able to lose any…

Seriously. How many calories?
So, I have about 15 lbs to lose. Never really been super over weight, but at one point I was about 10 lbs heavier than I am now. Recently, nothing. will. BUDGE. Seriously, nothing. For the past several months, I've stayed between 1350-1500 calories per day. I work out (heavily--spin and body pump classes) 5 times per week…

Help!
I've been eating well and exercising for about 2 months now. I stay between 1300-1500 calories per day...all of which come from whole grains, fruits, veggies, etc. I exercise about 5 days per week...burning at least 500-600 per session. I'm consistent and track everything and really feel like I'm doing everything right.…
