Reducing sugar intake?

I'm having a lot of trouble staying under my sugar goals each day. In fact, I often go way over. I know the logical answer is: don't eat sugar. But, I value having fruits and natural sugars like honey in my diet and I don't want to cut them out. Now I know all of you are about to check out my diary and tell me that Starbucks and the occasional baked good are my downfall (yes! I know! But it's the holidays and I'm sleepy). But, I also know that on days where I have no "sweet" treats, I am constantly going over based on fruit, etc. alone. What do you think? Are all sugars created equal? Is it okay to go over on sugar intake if coming from something like fruits? I'm slowly but surely trying to eliminate "fake" sugars from my diet so that's not really the option I'm looking for here.
