More satisfying than the scale OR the mirror...
Now, this is my personal opinion of course. But I am 6'2, started MFP in January, and the below graphic to me is more satisfying than the scale or the mirror. The 2010 #'s are the reason I started MFP. The 2011 #'s are the results of MFP. Keep in mind, the LDL Cholesterol is "The Bad" Cholesterol.

My Silly NSV
So I have this pair of jeans. They are made by a company called Urban Up. They are cheap jeans, but I have always LOVED them for whatever reason. Well, they had gotten so tight that tucking in shirts was out of the question. Reason being, I had to wear them with the button un-buttoned but I refused to get rid of them.…

Stupid Stupid Question....
A half a cup of Lite Vanilla Ice Cream is 110 cals, give or take. A Banana is 110 cals, give or take. Other than the obvious health benefits of the banana over the ice cream, in terms of weight loss only, is it really as simple as cals in vs cals burned? Are some cals worse than others from a weight loss perspective?

Please rescue me from lunch HELL.
Okay, so I have hit a plateau bad. I have been the same weight for the last 10 days even though I have been good about my calorie tracking, etc. One thing I want to try, is to STOP eating Progresso Soup for lunch. A) I am bored with soup. B) I am starting to worry about sodium and water retention. So, any ideas for EASY to…

Getting past the Plateau?
Any suggestions? I might be over thinking it, but I have been the exact same weight for 10 days now. So I guess it is time to change some stuff up, but honestly, I don't know WHAT to change up. Exercise frequency? Exercise type? Eat more? Eat less? Just keep on the same and eventually I will break through it? Any advice to…

NSV - Fighting Peer Pressure
I have turned down countless invitations to Five Guys Burgers and Fries since starting my MFP journey. That hasn't been extremely hard really, even though I do miss my Five Guys. But yesterday, my job decides to have an "Ice Cream Social." You know, they buy a boat load of ice cream, every flavor you could want, and the…

Big motivating factor: Before and After Pictures!
When I went for my checkup last November and my doctor told me my cholesterol was high (Not in the really bad zone, but higher than it should be), at THIRTY EIGHT, I was like "Ut oh, it's time to do something before it's too late." It was then that I started reading reviews of calorie trackers, diets, what to eat. I…

Small Scale Success Story
So, since about 15 years ago, my weight has always been 210+ Whether it be 212, 215, 222 (My Highest), or 218 (My starting weight with MFP.) The bottom line is, the second digit has always been a true number 1-9. Well, I was shocked when I weighed in today at 208! So for the first time in over 15 years, the second digit is…

Good Cardio Exercise That Doesn't Involve The Legs?
A little background. I have not run in 15 years and yesterday I did W1D1 of the C25K Running Program. So now today, my legs are pretty darn sore. I am not sure if I should do my other exercise which is a ski machine or elliptical. I don't want to injure a leg and have to quit the C25K. So, is there anything I can do for…
