Logging proper weights & using proper limits
So I'm looking for opinions. My calorie limit has been set for the past 341 days on my previous highest weight (before my journey began 6 years ago) which was 340lbs. So I have been eating as if I weighed 340lbs for all that time, because I simply did not know what I actually weighed. I was finally able to successfully…

Worse Things Happen at Sea
Those of you who know me will know I came within sniffing distance of my weight-loss goal and will then probably wonder what the hell happened. In December of last year, after 12 months of solid graft and hard work, there I sat at 110lbs down on my starting weight. I had around 20lbs left to lose but that figure wasn't too…

Christmas Present for an office full of women. HELP ME!
Women out there; help me! I work in an office with 4 women. Is it safer to buy them all the same thing (similar anyway, candles of varying types) for Christmas or to risk it and try to take a punt on buying something they'd like to read (I have an obsession with buying people books). If I bought books for 2 of them and…

Holiday NSV
I noticed these 2 photos from last years holiday to Sri Lanka and this years holiday to Florida are very similar poses. I hate that we constantly use the scale to justify our hard work. Screw what the scale says, these pictures are my new motivator.

Progress Pics -101lbs
Over the course of my journey I have lost 10 months of our precious time on this planet, a social life and some friends along with it, countless gallons of sweat, around £400 replacing my wardrobe again and again, my boxing gloves, a terrible self-destructive idea that everything was okay, many MFP friends who have fallen…

For The Tattoo'd
This might seem a silly question, but when I was last tattoo'd exercise was still a mystery to me. I got a new piece done on Saturday and part of it dips towards the crease in my knee. I'm concerned vigourous exercise is going to have an effect on the healing process. Does anyone have any experience with this?

New Slow Cooker - Recipes?
I just got given a slow cooker as a gift and am looking forward to using it as I love one-pot dishes. Can anyone recommend some good recipes? Preferably vegetarian friendly or using chicken / fish rather than other meats.

50lbs + Lost - Progress Pics
So I've been reluctant to do this (I'm not very photogenic!) but promised myself I would post progress pics at each 50lb interval. These were taken in October 2010. I was around 350lbs This was Christmas 2010. I was 340.5lbs at this point These were taken this afternoon. I'm currently 284.5lbs Be gentle...

Try this at home
I realised something on my walk in to work today (which, by the way, is one hell of a lot easier than it was in January!). When I first started visiting the MFP forums I would see these success stories of these people who had lost 50, 60, 100+lbs and achieving those numbers seemed like a pipe dream. To lose that much…

Water Intake
Could somebody direct me to a good article about the importance of water intake? My sister is on her own weight loss journey but gives me a very skeptical look when I try to convince her just how much water will help her! Thanks!

HRM Accuracy
I've been using a new HRM which just arrived yesterday and I'm a bit concerned about the accuracy. The HRM is a Sigma PC15. I biked today for 45 minutes - my exercise bike told me I'd burned 450kcal, the HRM told me I'd burned 840kcal. That's a pretty huge difference so it's hard to know what to trust. Can anyone with any…

The Fine Line Between Motivated and Obsessed
So I'm around 9 weeks in now (5 with MFP) and things are going fairly well on the whole but I'm finding myself constantly, I mean CONSTANTLY checking my MFP diary or thinking about how this whole shebang is going. I'm putting added pressure on myself and I'm feeling like it's making things more difficult and causing my…
