Weight Fluctuation
I know that it's normal for your weight to fluctuate day to day, but what is a normal fluctuation range? Or is there even a "normal?" It's frustrating when you feel like you're slowly making progress, and then you weigh yourself and you've suddenly gained 3 pounds in a day.

Using an HRM during strength training
I thought I read somewhere on here that using an HRM during a strength training work out will be wildly inaccurate. However, that doesn't make a lot of sense to me. Perhaps I'm just imagining things. What are you opinions on using an HRM during strength training? On a side note regarding HRMs, mine seems to say I'm burning…

Another HRM question
I see people on here all the time stating that cardio machines (especially ellipticals) grossly over-estimate how many calories you burn, and they recommend getting an HRM to get a more accurate (read: lower) estimate. However, has anyone had the opposite experience? What I mean is, the machine estimated a much lower…

Just got a HRM, have a quick question.
When I decide to do some running, I will usually walk for a few minutes before and after the run to warm up and cool down. This may seem like a silly question, but when should I start and end the "recording" of my session on my HRM? Should I record everything, or just the running part?

BBQ Ribs - How do I record them?
So last night I was at a friend's house for a small get-together and they ordered a TON of BBQ. They offered to let me take some of it home, so I took home some ribs (it's hard to pass up free food, and they said there was no way they were going to eat it because they are not a fan of left-overs). Anyway, I'm planning on…

Need good low-sodium lunch options to take to work.
Hello! Normally when I'm at work, I eat a frozen meal for lunch, however, they are packed with sodium. When I actually pack my lunch (which is rare these days) I make a sandwich out of lunchmeat, which is also packed with sodium. I'm not very creative when it comes to food (or in general, really), so I could use some good…

How do you prevent your knees from killing you when running?
No matter if it's on the ground or on a treadmill, my knees are always in pain whenever I run. What can I do to prevent his? FYI, I have "running shoes."

Generic Foods = Multiple Entries in Database
What do you do when you see generic foods with multiple entries in the database, all with different calorie counts? For example, looking up "Boneless Chicken Breast" will give you a ton of different entries and sizes. However, even entries that are the same size will give you different calorie counts. Do you have a method…

New to this - How do you deal with this situation?
Quick disclaimer: Despite this site stating that I've been doing this for a year, I did this for a month or so a year ago and then finally started again last week, so I'm still really new. Anyway, yesterday, I reached my calorie goal after eating dinner fairly early in the evening (Around 7pm), but I still felt pretty…

Calorie Counter on Elliptical Trainer
Hi everyone! I've heard/read that the calorie counter on elliptical trainers (as well as all cardio exercise equipment) tends to be wildly inaccurate. Lately I've been doing 30 minute sessions and the machine tells me I'm burning around 220 calories (7.3 cal/min). However, this website estimates that I burn 380. In your…
