Exercise related anxiety
I have a history of panic attacks and I’ve come a long way. I can actually exercise now. But typically at a very, very easy pace. I’d like to increase my intensity but the idea of pushing my heart rate higher spikes my anxiety. I have a couple of conditions which make all symptoms worse, POTs and I also gets PVCs/PACs. I…

Struggling with the last 10 lbs
I’ve lost about 25 lbs so far since last Dec. I’m 5’11” and I’ve made it to 170. So I’m finally in the “healthy” range, just barely. My initial goal was 160. The scale hasn’t budged in a few weeks now, close to a month. I’ve been eating between 1400-1700 calories and exercise about 4-5 days a week. I feel stuck. I’m eating…

3rd time's the charm?
I've been off and on again with MFP. I feel like I am at a place where I want/need this to be a permanent change to my habits, rather than a diet. I have a strong family history of diabetes so I'm doing lower carbs (not keto, just lower). I also have Hashimotos Thyroditis and POTs which means I have to take my workouts at…

Target heart rate - I need advice
I'm a 30 yr old female. 5'10" 190 lbs. I just start the couch to 5k program about a week ago. According to the American heart assoc. I should be working out at 60-80% target heart rate. So I checked, during the run intervals I'm at 90-100% or about 180-185 Bpm. During the walk intervals I'm around 160 bpm. I don't know…

I can see some change! my NSV :)
I don't know how to post photos, but check out my profile pic. I'm so excited! 5 weeks of heavy lifting, I can't wait to see what another 5 weeks will bring! ETA, I know it doesn't show up right as a thumbnail, but if you go to my profile you can see it better.

Weight lifting and calories - I'm SO confused?
Ok. This is probably a dumb question. But I've been doing a lot of reading and I need someone to try and explain this plainly to me. I've started a weight lifting program and intend on lifting heavy. It's been about 3 weeks, and it's going good so far. My goal: to lose fat and increase strength and lose a pants size or…

2 weight lifting questions
Question 1. My husband says that if you aren't sore all the time, you aren't training right. True or false? I have been pretty sore, 2 weeks into my new weightlifting program. And It kinda makes it hard to do certain daily activities ( I have 2 small children) Question 2. Do you get to a point where you just do…

How to break bad habits?
I've gotten into the poor habit, of doing really good in the morning and around lunch time, then from about 3pm til dinner I totally sabotage my day. Then proceed to tell myself " I will do better tomorrow!" and repeat the next day. So, any brilliant ideas on how to break the cycle? My calories are not set too low,…

What do you do when you want to give up?
I have thyroid issues. I thought eating better and losing weight would help. I've been going for about 2 months now. But it seems like no matter what I do nothing gets better. I don't feel stronger despite strength training. I have not been able to up my reps or weights in TWO MONTHS. I try to do cardio and it makes me…

New here, glad I found this group
Someone here on MFP told me about this group. It's nice to have those who understand what you're going through. I've been trying to lose weight since just after Christmas. I've lost 12 lbs. But my thyroid is swinging again and thrown me off something crazy. I'm trying to build up my muscle strength because I'm tired of…

How to deal with hunger?
I am taking it slow and only doing a daily calorie deficit of 250, ( which is actually probably more like 500 considering what I have been eating over the holidays ). Even then I still feel hungry alot. Usually between lunch and dinner. I've tried adding snacks like peanut butter and cheese, but I think it just makes me…
