Idaho Sunrise
Just saw this yummy looking recipe on Pintrest today and tried it for dinner. It was SO good and pretty easy. Thought I'd pass it along. Start with baked potatoes and cut a lid off it, so you can scoop out the insides (leaving some potato, don't scrape it all away). Scoop out the insides and use the guts for something…

Size 12 jeans... My high school size!!
In September I was wearing size 20 jeans. I just bought two pairs of size 12 jeans and they aren't even tight! I was in size 12 when I was a senior in high school! The scale hasn't moved a whole lot since the beginning of the year but I keep needing new clothes! Total NSV!

Maxing out on squats (because the bar hurts me)
I started doing stronglifts 5x5 in January and my latest squat weight is 120. I can squat this weight and I am sure I can squat more, but I am getting worried about how much more my shoulders can actually hold. My arms and shoulder/back area feel it more than my legs/butt. It hurts.. and it's not a good hurt either! I am…

Pushups - Should I even bother yet?
Oh, the elusive pushup. I have never done a real pushup in my life. I've never even completed a "fake" pushup. I've tried, but 1/3 of the way down I realize that if I go any lower my arms will give out. And then my wrists feel sore for about 10 minutes and my ego gets bruised. Couple questions about pushups... How much of…

Passing it on! NSV!
I wish this success story came with pics. (Maybe it will at some point!) Those are always the best! But I am feeling very successful and wanted to share. :drinker: I've been on a journey towards health and fitness since September and been having success and kicking myself at the same time for waiting so long to make it…

Shoulders are tired - but I want to kayak. Bad idea?
I have been attempting stronglift 5x5 for the last month or so. (I say attempting because I don't quite have it down or have the right equipment yet, but I am doing variations that I hope are similar enough. I am seeing small differences, so I think I am on the right track.) I also like to kayak, which I have been doing…

Newbie Question - Sets in a row?
Sorry if this has been covered. I did try the search before posting, but could find the answer. I am wondering whether you should do all of the sets of one exercise before you move on to the next exercise, or should you do one set of each in a rotation? Or does it matter?

Lifting and calories
Newbie question. I noticed that when I added strength training to my day on the MFP app, it didn't pad me with any extra calories to intake, the way cardio does. That seems counter-intuitive, but I am thinking maybe I didn't use enough weight for it to count as strength work. (it was less than 5 pounds, which I now know is…

Measurement Question
Hope this is in the right area. Wasn't sure where to put this kind of question. Since September I have lost roughly 20 pounds. I've gone down a couple of dress sizes and can see a visual difference. So, in many quantitative and qualitative ways I can see a difference. The one very important place I am not seeing any change…

Every day is a success
Hi All, Brand new to MFP, and pretty new to healthy eating, so I am learning both right now. (can't quite figure out how to hook my phone entries up to my profile yet - think I messed up by creating an account with different info than my app - oh well. ) I became aware of my high blood pressure in September of this year. I…

100% juice vs fruit
I've lurked and searched for the last month or so and can't find the answer to my question about juice vs fruit. Nutritionally, is there a difference between the juice you squeeze from an orange and orange juice from the store that is 100% juice (no sugar added)? I know you get fiber from eating the actual fruit that you…
