So what's the challenge?
Am I missing something or is this coming?
alcohol and weight loss
Let me start by saying that I have no problems with alcohol abuse. I enjoy an occasional cocktail, beer, glass of wine but I never drink during the week and don't over do on the weekend. Even though I track my alcohol consumption, it just seems that I cannot lose weight unless I just flat out abstain from drinking. Not…
Support network needed
I'm Kevin. 55 years old and have been on my weight loss journey for 5+ years. Used to be on WW online and lost ~40 lbs initially, still hd 20 to go though. 15 lbs crept back on and honestly, I know how to count calories so there was no reason to continue paying WW so I quit there and began here. However, not much really…
How many triathletes here?
I have been doing triathlon for last 3 years. Have done 10+ sprints and a couple of Oly races. Don't know if I'll ever have time to train for a HIM or IM, but I do like the training (although my running is at a glacial pace). How may other MFP people do tris?
Sufferfest
I love these vids, have upped my game on the trainer. My favorite is Hell Hath No Fury. What is yours?
HRM ring
I think I know the answer but I'll throw it out there. I'm doing a half marathon in Feb and use a run-walk-run approach for anything over 10K (this keeps my HR nicely in Z2-low Z3). To do this, I have a watch with an interval timer and, for training purposes, wear my Garmin 310XT and Ant+ HRM strap. However, for the race,…
Tweaking
I have used several online tools to calculate my TDEE and BMR. I think my BMR is rather accurate (~1900/day) and my TDEE (~3000/day) are a bit high and I understand that no calculator can control for physiologic differences between different humans. Nevertheless, in looking at this board, it looks like people spend some…
Hoka One One
I have had a problem with metatarsalgia (burning pain in the ball of my foot) on longer runs. Got a pair of Bondi B's for XMAS and just finished up 6+ miles of pain free running. Any one else tried these shoes?
Hi
Thought I would introduce myself. I'm a recent refugee from WW Online. Did WW for 3 years and initially lost 40+ lbs. Over the last couple of years I have bounced between 220 and 210 (goal weight is 185). I don't blame WW for this, I need to really focus down and control my snacking to lose the last 20-30 or so pounds. But…
