What is your favorite distraction?
For everyone who tends to go for food when bored or have nothing to do, what is your favorite way to distract yourself to keep you from snacking? Personally, mine is crocheting. It keeps my hands and mind busy enough so I don't think about food. I have a big project coming up (need a new afghan for my new sofa) so I expect…

Hospital Weight Management program
Have any of you done a hospital weight management program? First of all, I am NOT talking about an ultra low calorie Medifast type program. Anyone play Pickleball?
I just moved to a new town which has a very active recreation department. I am thinking of signing up for Pickleball. but I had never heard of it. I did check out a bunch of YouTube videos but want some real life experiences. The sessions I am thinking of are subtitled "Social" (as opposed to some other nights/locations…

Extensor Tendonitis
Has anybody had this? What did you do to make it go away? Since I started doing more walking, I have had pains on the top of my foot and the front of the ankle which are classic symptoms of extensor tendonitis. I bought a new pair of walking shoes as well as orthotics to put in them but I still get the pain after I walk.…

What red numbers are you happy to see?
When looking at your diary at the end of the day, what do you like seeing in red, or at least don't mind? I am happy to see my fiber in red. I am sort of happy if my protein is in red. I'm kind of "meh" if my sodium or fat are in red. As long as total calories and carbs are in green or at "0" I am satisfied with my day.

Thinking of switching from NEAT to TDEE
I have been on MFP for a little over a year now and have been successful with following NEAT and eating back about 50% of my exercise calories, on average. I have lost just over 100 lb. with 50 more to go. I know I will switch over to TDEE when I get closer to goal so I can ease into maintenance but I am thinking of doing…

Mushy protein ideas
I am on a post-surgical restricted diet. Basically I can only eat really soft foods. I need more ideas for protein. I cannot eat anything sticky, so nut butters are out and I cannot have anything that can create gas so beans and legumes are out. Right now, I am getting my protein from eggs, yogurt, and protein powder…

Green Powder
Does anyone use a green powder they can recommend? I am going to need surgery and will not be able to eat anything other than pureed/liquid food for 2 weeks. I won't have a problem getting my macros in but eating veggies, and getting their micros, is going to be an issue. I really don't want to have to resort to baby food…

You've Come a Long Way, baby!
I make a Buche de Noel for Christmas dinner every year. This year I will make two, one extra for a party I am going to tonight. The base is a sponge cake where you have to beat the egg whites separately and fold them in to the thick part of the batter. Anyway, 2 years ago I couldn't even stir it. I had to take about two…

Blender recommendations
I just burned out the motor in my 40+ year old Osterizer and am looking for a new blender. My criteria: * Powerful enough to handle really thick stuff and crush ice * I would prefer a "blend and go" rather than one where I need to transfer the food from the blender to another container * Needs to have at least one…
