Mid-40s: Lost 90+ lbs & maintained for almost 2 years - reached < 10% body fat
Hi all. I haven't been active on the forums for some time. I started this journey in January of 2013. I was 272 lbs, on cholesterol meds, had high blood pressure, was pre-diabetic and was told my doc was going to diagnose me with type II diabetes. I started using MFP, logging my food and working to eat healthier. I started…

Story of my success
Here's an article I was honored to be asked to write for the local running club that I'm part of. It's a good overview of my weight-loss and fitness journey: http://www.spacecoastrunners.org/SCRfiles/Newsletters/2014_04.pdf

NSV: Body Fat %
Body fat was 29% when I started this journey in January of 2013. I just had it taken by a professional trainer using both impedance and 9-point caliper measurements. The average of the two was 13.6%! Before and after below...... March 2013 - 28%: March 2014 - 13.6%:

NSV: Waist size
I haven't seen this territory since my teens. Waist when I started this journey in January of 2013 = 44. Waist size of the 6 pairs of shorts I bought Sunday = 32!!! That's a freaking foot off of my waist!

Initial Goal Weight Reached - 269 lbs to 200 lbs - PICS
Well I started this journey in mid-January of this year. I was 43 years old, 269 lbs, out of shape, on the verge of type 2 diabetes (I was showing signs of insulin resistance), high cholesterol, borderline high blood pressure, pain in my knees when going up/down just one flight of stairs. I drank virtually no water but…

NSV: Ran My First Half-Marathon
Well, 13 months into this journey I completed my first half-marathon this past weekend. I went from not being able to run to my mailbox to running 13.1 miles in just over two hours. Yes it feels good! Below is a pic at the finish line. Further below is a link to "my story". My story:…

Frustrated - Plateau?
I've lost 71 lbs since mid-January. I've been stuck at 198.6 lbs since July 3. My TDEE is around 2150. I've been at or under my net caloric goal of 1600 in all but 3 of the last 11 days. I knew the weight loss would become slower and more difficult but C'MON! This is PISSING ME OFF! I guess I need to add some strength…

1 month in
Hello from sunny Florida. I'm a month in and am happy with my progress. I think MFP is a great tool and fits with my analytical personality. I've just added a Striiv Play to my arsenal and have registered for a 3K run in a month. I'm looking forward to a healthier lifestyle and learning from others here.

Polar Questions/Help
Hello, I am currently using the Striiv Play but am considering a Polar watch. I realize one measures steps (primarily) and the other heart rate (primarily). I'm wondering if anyone has a Polar like the FT7 that they wear throughout the daytime, whether exercising or not. I'm wondering if this is a viable option to not only…
